5 Easy Ways to Generate More Visibility, Interaction &

Love for Your Blog Posts Are you prepared to get more comments, more visibility and more love for your blog posts than you have before? Writing blog posts is an essential part of your marketing strategy. In fact, if you rely on blogging to bring in the bulk of your website traffic, you need every single blog post to count… and in a big way. This e-book will teach you the different ways that you can cross-pollinate one blog post to create the maximum visibility and exposure possible without costing you a ton of time. The best part is, you can also hand this process over to a virtual assistant and outsource the entire process. So, let’s get started! (Recommended: actually follow along with these steps as you’re reading them so that you can see the sheer value in how quick this process actually is!)

Step One: Choosing Your Blog Post Title When you’re deciding to gain some traffic and visibility from your blog, there are a few key things you need to do. The blogging process starts with choosing an interesting topic and the best way to gain a lot of traffic is to choose something relevant, current and exciting. For example, the new iPhone software is now out and it’s the latest buzz on the Twitterverse and on other trending sites. This would make a great blog post. Other ways to find out what current hot topics are:

• Twitter Trending Topics

This shows you a list of what is trending on Twitter at any given time. Perfect for staying within the hot topics and showing up on many searches that you may not have otherwise.

• Google trends

Google Trends shows you the trending topics as it relates to searching. This allows you to see what people are searching for the most right now on Google. Take a look in these two locations to see what some of the trending topics are and see if you can find a way to tie this in with your business. If so, choose a topic that you can easily write a post about.

Step Two: Write Your Blog Post In this stage, you are going to write your blog post. The best way to do this is to also think about the blog post as an article. What can be easily translated into an article format? You may not want to do this with every blog post as some blog posts are just great as “off the cuff” writing pieces but for this purpose, it’s important to choose something that can be easily cross-pollinated. I write all of my blog posts straight into WordPress (my blogging software of choice) but you can write it in Notepad, Text Edit or any other word processing program (except Word – this will add funky code and weird text to your blog post.) Add relevant keywords, choose appropriate categories and make sure to add an image or two where you can. Writing the Blog Post:

The Completed Blog Post:

The key here is to write short, snappy yet really helpful blog posts that people will find useful. The more useful they find your blog post, the more apt they are to share it and send it to colleagues. The other thing to remember is that if you can make it a numbered how-to, people will clearly understand what they are coming to read this post for.

Step Three: Turning Your Blog Post Into an Article After your blog post is written, the next thing you want to do is turn it into an article for posting on Ezine Articles and on other article sites that you may have accounts on. To do this, simply grab your copy and remove any “bloggy” references such as questions you ask your audience, usage of “I” and make sure it is informative. Go over to www.ezinearticles.com and create an account or login to your existing account. From here, follow the steps to post your article. Also ensure that your Ezine Articles account is setup to post your approved articles to Twitter. This is an important part of the automation process.

Once you’ve got your article posted, move on to the next stage!

Step Four: Promoting Your Blog Post Via Social Networks Once you’ve got the article posted, it’s time to turn your attention to the social networks. You want to utilize each site uniquely so we’ll examine these and include screenshots where applicable. Shorten the Blog Post URL Before you begin any promotion on social networks, create a Bit.ly account to shorten the URL and to track your clicks.

Once you’ve begun using this link, log back into Bit.ly to see your statistics so you can see the kind of exposure you get with the URL. Twitter The first thing to do is Tweet the link out with the blog post title as per a normal sort of Tweet. Ensure the title isn’t too long so that people can retweet and add your name and RT in front of it as well.

Once you’ve posted the Tweet onto Twitter, you then want to switch to your next social network. Remember, this isn’t about sitting and obsessing over performance in one place, we want to get this blog post out to as many places as possible.

Ping.fm Ping.fm is a great tool that allows you to post your status across many different social networks all at once. The rule that is often used is that you should use Ping.fm for every network but Twitter since you’ll be updating your Twitter status far more than other social networks in most instances. If you don’t already have one, setup your account and link your social networks to your account. Then, go to the status box and post the same thing that you posted onto Twitter.

Go ahead and post that out to your networks. Facebook The next place to go is Facebook. At this stage, the status update you did from Ping.fm should already be showing up as your Facebook status.

So, what you want to do on Facebook are two simple things:

1. Make sure your blog posts are importing into the Notes section of Facebook so that your blog posts get updated.

2. Post the URL to your Facebook home page.

This way, people see it as your status yet if you change your status later, the item you shared is still there.

Step Five: Promoting Your Blog Post to Social Bookmarking Sites The next thing you want to do is promote your link via social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, etc. You can do this by using the icons on your blog post or by going to each individual site.

The primary sites you want to hit with this step are:

• Digg • Technorati • Delicious • LinkedIn • MySpace • Stumble Upon

You can do as many or as few as you like but doing each will generate you extra exposure.
