1. Talk About the Scary Future“Where do you see yourself in 30 days? 90 days?
6 months? 3 years from now?”
Career planning should not be done once a year- but around the year.
Hint: Think about where they excel.
Chances are, that’s where their bright future lies. Chances are, they can’t do it without your help.
This gives them purpose, confidence.
2. Help Connect the Dots
What they do matters to the company.
Help them see the big picture.
Recognizing their efforts, inspires better work.
3. Announce everything.
EVERYTHING.
More communication = more engaged
Beware of, “No one told me-”It means that your staff is not working with 100%
confidence.
Also: Be honest.
Great employees always know what’s going on in the office.
4. Let them shine!
Encourage creativity every chance you get.
