Dear families of the Immaculate Heart or Mary, Today’s readings are about persistence, passionate persistence. Exodus tells of a battle won despite weariness because Moses, with help from Aaron and Hur, held his hands raised. Timothy asks that same persistence of his community and us. Luke tells of a court case won by a widow, despite the dishonesty of the judge, because she will not leave him alone. The psalm reminds us that God is everywhere, guarding us from harm day and night, coming and going, now and forever. The readings are about persistence, the relentless, unwavering pursuit of what must not be lost. The readings are about God’s passionate persistence in pursuing us, seeking to win our hearts. Next weekend our Crafty Quilter’s host their annual “Boutique”. These ladies work hard all year to make very creative and beautiful crafts. Be sure to stop by the Hall this weekend beginning Friday afternoon and ongoing till Sunday afternoon. Their talents are put to use for the support of IHM. They are always welcoming new members. They meet on Tuesdays at 10:00AM in Hall C. For the Adoration during Fridays, from 7PM to 8PM, we encourage parents with little children to join us at the Chapel. We have found, from experience and the positive response we got from the recent 24 Hours of Adoration last March, that our parents with their little children will benefit a lot from having a dedicated time for them to be with the Blessed Sacrament at this particular time. We therefore encourage those who desire to have ample and dedicated quiet time
at the Adoration Chapel to plan accordingly, and thus encourage diversity in prayer formats to be made available by and by, and as needed, to have music like Gregorian and Taize chants. We will also try to schedule specific hours for the recitation of the Holy Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet and other prayers to promote devotions and fuller participation during our regular Adoration on Fridays through Saturday before the 8AM Mass. These updates in liturgy are ultimately geared towards greater appreciation of the beauty and reverence of how we serve and worship at our most beloved church. +++++ Además, para la Adoración durante los viernes de 7PM a 8PM, animamos a los padres con niños pequeños a unirse a nosotros en la capilla. Hemos encontrado por experiencia y por las respuestas positivas que nos dieron durante las últimas 24 horas de Adoración en marzo pasado, que nuestros padres con niños pequeños se beneficiarían mucho de tener un tiempo dedicado para ellos de estar con el Santísimo Sacramento en este momento en particular.
