The 5/556 series of valves are suitable for the controlof smali double-acting cylinders and large controlvalves.

Many variations occur in the application of smali controlvalves to the circuits to which they are suited. The5/556 valves are available in a range of mechanicaltrip mechanisms, enabling a variety of control applica­tions to be achieved easily and unexpensively.

A piston fitted with O-ring seals is arranged to siide inthe body by means of the operating mechanism.

The body is drilled with a series of holes connectingwith the valve ports in the body, and the arrangementof the O-ring grooves and the holes is such thatdifferent ports are inter-connected by movement of thepiston.

Manualjmechanical operating forces quoted relate tomains air supply pressure of 6 bar.

When the piston is in this posi­tion, the supply air is taken to theinlet port '1' and connected tothe cylinder port '2'. The ex­hausting air passes trom cylinderport '4' to exhaust port '5' .

When the valve is operated, thepiston moves to the other end otthe valve, the supply air isconnected to port '4', and theexhausting air passes trom port'2' to port '3' ..
