Teela says.....“I hope this newsletter finds you healthy and happy and geared up for the Spring. Let’s hope we have the same weather for Easter as we did last year - I remember having my Sunday Roast in the garden!!

Towards the end of last year, I had the opportunity to get to the Harmony weekend in Scarborough but didn’t get around to seeing the area because I was working. I would have loved to walk along the seafront and visit nearby Whitby, so when a friend of mine bought Dave and I a weekend hotel gift voucher I decided to revisit. Not sure if it was Dave’s first choice tho. So that’s something to look forward to at the end of March. We are even staying at the very same hotel that was the venue for the Harmony weekend!!

I am going to be organising the Miss Sparkle and Miss Golden Sparkle Pageant this July at Sparkle 2012, and would be over the moon if you entered! More details can be found in this edition.

Remember, if you have a story to tell, or anything that may be of interest to other girls, please drop me an email with details and I will be happy to publish in the next Newsletter.

Hope to see you very soon!!

Love from Me,

Teela-Janexxxxx

Almost daily I receive emails from the girls who have visited Transpose and just want to share a those that I received this morning. I know there are many of you who haven’t yet tried a make-over and photoshoot for various reasons, but to those of you who think that you wouldn’t look good, or don’t like being in front of the camera, or just too shy or nervous, by reading what others write, just might make you drop me a line.

Teela-Jane

A Message from New Zealand____________________________

“Hi Teela,

My god, it is about 4 years since I came to you for a makeover! I still think of the wonderful time I had, and I wanted you to know that I still use some of the pictures you took in my on-line chats and share them with my friends. You must have made an impact on me because I still remember the session this much later and I still recommend you to people who ask. That is why I just had to send you an email to let you know of the lasting effect you have on those you help. I am so pleased to find your web site and to see that you are still going strong.

Unfortunately I live in New Zealand now, so I doubt I will be able to get to

you again, but if I ever do get back to the UK and find myself with a day on my own – it is not the

Tower of London I will be visiting, but Ellesmere Port!

Love from, Sandra (in beautiful NZ!) “

A Message from a Nervous Kitten____________________________

“Teela, I wanted to thank you so much for the kindness and consideration you showed me during my first makeover. I arrived as nervous as a kitten and you put me completely at ease within a few minutes. After that I had a blast, just looking at the photos brings a huge smile to my face and diving for the diary to see when I can fix up another visit!

I learnt a great deal about me, my feelings and my desires. I came away from the studio, with an inner peace and tranquillity that is hard to find anywhere in this crazy world, and it has stayed with me (up to now anyway)! If 3 hours of being Paula can make such an impression on a hardened cynical old man, then long live Paula!

Thank you once again for guiding a virgin through the minefield of being a girl and making everything fun, educational and indulging my passion for photography.

Paula xx “

There’s Gratitude for Ya!....

A Message from a Grateful Girl________________________

“Its been nearly a year since we first met, when you gave me a makeover and took some pics for my very first time out as a girl ever.

That first time we met I was a bit of a nervous wreck, I don’t know why, looking back there was no need to be but it was such a big moment in my life, by the end of the session I already felt much better and as you may remember went out for the first time into the big world for an evening out.I came to see you a few weeks later for a makeup lesson on a Wednesday evening, then another the next morning, and to even my surprise Ive never been back.

I have to say that you are one of a few people without who I wouldn’t have the life I have today, the few times I came to see you were like a ticket to a new life and Ill always be grateful for the kindness you showed me and for the things you taught me and for the confidence you helped me to grow.

After the invaluable lessons you gave me I practiced a lot and developed my own style which I still change sometimes as I learn, and very quickly indeed learned that I could spend day or night time as a girl doing quite ordinary things,

I guess what Im trying to say is that although I didn’t come to see you many times those times were vitally important and lifechanging for me and Ill always be grateful.

Life now is not easy of course as Im only a girl part time and always want more but I do still have my wonderful supportive partner, who I was only out shopping with (as girls of course) at the weekend. I have come on a long way with my appearance since we last met both with makeup and dress sense and find girl life to feel natural and easy to do.

Lots of loveCxxx”

A Message from the Heart____________________________“Dear Teela, I cannot begin to thank you enough for my makeover on Thursday. As you will have guessed I was pretty nervous at first - but very soon I was really enjoying it. The time went far too quickly.

You took so much trouble to get my three looks just right. The photos are absolutely fantastic, and I never imagined that I could look so good. You certainly have a skill, not only with the make up brush but with the camera and know how to get the best of your girls.

You made me feel very special and I still can’t get over how good I look. Thank you, thank you. RegardsDee x “

Well, it could be YOU!!! All you have to do is enter.

A few weeks ago Transpose was approached by the aficionados of Sparkle to organise their Miss Sparkle 2012 Pageant. After the trauma of putting on a fashion show at Sparkle and the organising that took place for that, we weresomewhat hesitant but said we would give it some thought. After discussions with Tilly and her promise that she would be there to help, we said Yes.

So girls, the Miss Sparkle and Miss Golden Sparkle (for the over 50’s) will take place at Sparkle on Saturday 14th July in the park. There will be two prizes on offer – Miss Sparkle 2012 and Miss Golden Sparkle 2012 plus runner up prizes and goodies. All entrants will receive a Transpose Goodie Bag and for the winners, a 5* Makeover and Photoshoot.

There was no Pageant in 2011 due to lack of entrants, so let’s make Sparkle 2012 the best ever....................

What you waiting for? Get your entries in.

You can get your entry forms by visiting the Sparkle 2012 website, or write directly to [email protected] and we will be happy to email you one, fax you one or post you one!!

And the winner of Miss Sparkle 2012 is........................

And the winner of Miss Sparkle 2012 is........................

If you are wondering what to wear, there is only one category - wear what you want!!! There is no swimsuit round, there is no evening wear round, just wear whatever makes you feel good and makes you stand out.

And if you are still a little hesitant, we are holding an open evening on June 28th from 7 till 10 at the Transpose studio so you can eye up the competition ;-). No, seriously, we can answer any queries, worries or questions you might have; help with advice on what to wear; any make-up advice; maybe practice your walk or brush up on your poise and deportment. For those unable to travel far, we will be available on Facebook for an on-line chat.

Remember, it’s not the winning that counts, it’s the taking part!!!

AlysonAly has been a frequent visitor to Transpose for many years, has been a Newsletter Cover Girl and maybe once as a Girl of the Month. But that was some time ago and we thought it was high time she was featured again.

Whenever Aly comes along, she always brings fun ideas and different challenges for Teela-Jane and together they have had many different outfits and looks over the years to reflect on. We cannot pos-sibly feature a selection, there is just too many to choose from, so we decided to include just one from her last shoot, here at the studio.

“Transpose is the Carlsberg of dressing serv-ices (without the “probably”) & Teela-Jane is the closest thing I’ll ever have to a Fairy God-mother...!”

Aly

Alyson uses Flickr to post many of her photo-graphs, you may have already seen her there.

Hey Ladies,

Was very nice seeing you at the last tea night – we seem to all have a bit of a fetish for shoes going on at the moment lol – think it must be something to do with sky high heels still being in fashion not to mention platform soles and wedges – bit of a glam shoe delight these days.

Women and their passion for impos-sible heels seem to have come in mighty waves, from the mediaeval times to the very ‘flirty 20’s’ with their ‘strumpet’ kitten heels.

1950’s saw heels go from chunky to skinny and then a positive explo-sion of weird n wonderfulness hit us in the 60’sand 70’s (for those of you who remember – sadly I do – well just ;P) Cor blimey lol remember some of these Teela!!??

Personally I think over the years I must have worn every type known to man! Despite being tallish for a girl the sky high heels never phased me – until I fell off them!! Sadly that happened fairly regularly after alcohol – oops! I have gone from boring to funky in a flash and from flat to super sky in a whim – these days my fetish only comes when feeling brave – or at the request of a significant other (ahem! Lol)

Nowadays it seems almost anything goes – get a load of these beauties.

All I can say is Viva la difference!!! I love shoes and wish you all well in your glamorousness but beware – rocky roads and alcohol are no friend of the sky high diva !

PS I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t plug the ‘look after your feet’ campaign after all no good having glamorous heels and funky toes if your feet look like need a good brush n scrub is it?! (Don’t forget the legs too!) Am always there to guide and advise should you need it

See you all soon

Lots love Tilly xxx

Pauline, pictured here, was an absolute Godsend!! She did the most boring

looked after visitors with charm andefficiency.

Thanks Pauline!!

Kelly is featured on the cover, inside cover and back cover and is such a lovely person, we wanted to share her story with you. She just loves wearing anything colourful!!

A little about myself and my TTJE , abbreviations by the way a pet hate of mine but try to be 'with it'-- The Teela-Jane Experience.

The 'male' me is what could be described as an 'old codger', who over the years has realised he had a feminine side and occasionally let it come out. In secret as many of us do, of course. Of late it has developed more strongly due to a personal situation I found myself in and it proved what you could say was a 'stress' release valve, which has been my saviour.

I see myself as a 'crossdresser', admit to occasional twinges of the 'real' thing but age takes this out of the equation. However I do feel it important to be passable, am still a virgin to a public experience yet, by the way.

Without wanting to bore you, I went down many avenues of discovery as no doubt have many others and came across an advert for Transpose. Realised not a great distance from me and a sense of adventure swept over me but also nerves as well.

Eventually I emailed and rang Teela-Jane. After a few calls and emails I decided to go to see her. The choices of experiences were many but thought lets go in at the deep end, so to speak, and booked a 5

star photo shoot.

I was very apprehensive come the big day but it all went well. I Began to realise a models world is not such an easy life after all and was overwhelmed with the choice of outfits and wigs.

Teela-Jane soon put me at my ease. Needless to say have been back to Transpose again since and also attemded her makeup sessions.

All I can say is thank you Teela-Jane for making an 'old codger' a really gorgeous young lady, who is nearly ready for the world outside.

Kelly--x--

Our pleasure, Kelly!
