Are you ready for a challenge and an opportunity? As conference Vice-President, my team and I would like to o er both. We have prepared one of the most unique combinations of sessions and workshops available to you across North America.

As Project Managers and/or Business Analysis Professionals, you are often tasked with managing teams, predicting shifting scenarios and ensuring careful direction, all while understanding the importance of the bottom line. Our conference, ProjectSummit*BusinessAnalystWorld is designed to create scenarios that deliver these skill-set enhancing situations.

Whether it’s through classroom-style sessions by recognized experts and innovators or peer-to-peer casual conversations, the learning process will be natural and above all, fun!

Along with gaining knowledge and making new acquaintances, it’s important to remind you that we are a PMI® and IIBA Registered Education Provider. Attendees can claim one credit for every hour of education, up to 18 in total over 3 days, which goes a long way to renewing your certifi cation.

I encourage you to take advantage of all the learning and networking opportunities this event provides. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions!

THE CREATIVE STORM FOR PROJECT PROFESSIONALS: HOW TO IGNITE CREATIVE LEADERSHIP AND LEAD INNOVATION IN THE NEW ECONOMY

FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT. HOW DO YOU FIGHT FAIRLY FOR SUCCESS, ESPECIALLY FOR YOURSELF?

According to a study by IBM, CEOs cited creativity as the most important leadership quality. As a result of the digital transformation, Creative Leadership is becoming a sought-after Project Management style. It’s the “Next Big Thing” in leadership for accelerating innovation and driving change. Using real examples, Nelson will explain his Nine Forces Of Creative Leadership™ and draw upon his own personal experiences and projects working with Project Managers and Business Analysts for over two and a half decades.

In a successful project structure, the Business Analyst and the Project Manager are equals, and they are in confl ict. The Business Analyst and the Project Manager serve as checks and balances on the progress and outcome of the project. This means that those two roles will, and should, be in confl ict on many points. How that confl ict is resolved may dictate the success of the project. Of course, when you are playing both roles, Project Manager and Business Analyst, how do you engage yourself in that confl ict? This Keynote reviews the inherent and healthy confl ict between the Business Analyst and Project Manager and o ers suggestions for playing both roles at the same time.

Vincent Mirabelli, CBAP, CCXP, MBB,PMP, , Principal, Global Project Synergy Group

Many businesses struggle when it comes to establishing a standardized approach to Project Management. And nowhere is this more evident than in the process and approach of project selection and prioritization. We build layers of complexity and governance to select what our organizations will work on this year, next year and beyond and yet, we know there exists a dirty little secret about this process...it doesn’t matter. Projects are often selected based on political reasons; whose pet project it is, what the HIPPO wants, who holds “sway”, etc. No wonder we’re all so frustrated!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES• Learn how to apply a scalable approach to managing

the project selection process.• Discuss how to ensure that all selected projects

align with enterprise strategies, (and know when you should ignore the needs of the organization) to deliver maximum stakeholder value.

• Learn how the skills we acquired in grade school can help us now, avoiding the tremendous pain that is normally associated with project selection and prioritization.
