Anyone looking for a play that is funny, sophisticated, stylish, stimulating and moving should
see ART, a wildly funny andnaughtily provocative play.
This comedy, which raises questions about art and friendship, concerns three long-time friends. Serge buys a large, expensive, completely white
painting and Marc is horrified.Their relationship suffers considerable
strain as a result of their differing opinions about what constitutes “art”.
Yvan, caught in the middle of the conflict, tries to please and mollify both of them, with comic results.
“ART sounds like a marriage of Molière and Woody Allen…” —Newsweek.
Translated by Christopher Hampton

The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. When the four meet each other, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings,
a near-seduction, and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession.
The Comedy of Errors is one of William Shakespeare’s shortest and most farcical comedies, with a major part of the humour coming from slapstick and mistaken
identity, in addition to puns and word play.

It’s murder most funny as 20-somethings Derek and Prudence start Halloween by
arriving late at the costume store - mostly because Derek hates anything to do with
bodies, coffins, ghosts and all things ghoulish. Turns out, the costume store manager has a secret: a dead body he needs to offload, that he decides to stash in the local funeral home
run by Derek’s somewhat kooky parents, Jeremy and Formalda Hyde. Enjoy hilarity, laughter, a touch of romance, a little bit of
crazy and some surprising twists in this fresh new comedy about Halloween at the town’s
spookiest (and haunted) funeral home.

In 1904, Mr. C.C. Worthington designed and built this charming theater, then called Worthington Hall. It was a social and educational center for residents and visitors to Shawnee on Delaware. Worthington also built the nearby Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort and its famous 27-hole championship golf course, where Sam Snead competed in the 1938 PGA.A group called the Shawnee Players, consisting of local amateur actors, performed here to enthusiastic audiences from 1904 until World War II. In 1943 musician Fred Waring purchased the Inn and began to broadcast his famous radio program, Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians, from the Worthington Hall. Eventually, however, the Hall fell into disuse and deteriorated. When the Kirkwood family purchased the Inn in 1978, they began to restore Worthington Hall, and renamed it The
Shawnee Playhouse. Neighbors and members of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company also worked on the restoration. Thanks to extensive efforts by Ginny Kirkwood, the Playhouse was placed on the National Registry of Historic places and won the prestigious Phoenix Award, presented by the Society of American Travel Writers. In June of 1985, a disturbed arsonist burned the beautiful Shawnee Playhouse. With help from the people of Shawnee on Delaware, the U.S. Navy Seabees, and others, the Shawnee Playhouse was again rebuiltin its original style. Since 1979, with the support of the Shawnee Institute Ltd., local and professional talent have enthralled audiences with many performances, readings and concerts. We are very proud of the Shawnee Playhouse and hope you enjoy your experience in this historic building.
