Fire and welfare arrangements – information for visitorsThe Chester Beatty Laboratories has a standby alarm where the alarm sounds intermittently which means prepare to evacuate.There is then a full evacuation alarm where the alarm sounds continuously and your guide will direct you to the nearest escape route and the assembly point.

Fire ExitsThe nearest fire exits are the ground floor exits at the back of the building. The lifts cannot be used during the full alarm; therefore any visitors who have difficulties using stairs should identify themselves to their group guide so that assistance can be provided where needed.Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building including the balcony and patio areas
