Just because I’m different,Doesn’t mean you’re cooler than me,Doesn’t mean I’m weird,Doesn’t mean I’m different,Just because I’m smart,Doesn’t mean you can pick on me,Doesn’t mean I’m dumb,Doesn’t mean I’m perfect,Just because I’m different,Doesn’t mean I’m more athletic than you,doesn’t mean I’m stronger than you,Doesn’t mean that no matter what we’re all the same.

Just because I’m whiteDoesn’t mean I hate other peopleDoesn’t mean I’m dumbDoesn’t mean I’m better then peopleJust because I have long hair Doesn’t mean I’m a girlDoesn’t mean I’m uglyDoesn’t mean I’m fatJust because I’m poor Doesn’t mean I have handy downsDoesn’t mean I live on the streetDoesn’t mean I don’t have food

Just because I’m smart Doesn’t mean I can answer every question.Doesn’t mean I will be a scientist.Doesn’t mean I don’t have a hard time in school.

Just because I get into disagreements Doesn’t mean I'm a bad kid.Doesn’t mean I'm dumb.

Just because I'm smart doesn’t mean I'm a nerdDoesn’t mean I get picked onDoesn’t mean I get beat up

IF I WERE IN CHARGE OF THE WORLD…

If I were in charge of the world I’d help people who are poor. I’d have less school and I’d give food to the hungry.If I were in charge of the world there’d be more football teams. There’d be no more war and there wouldn’t be bullying.If I were in charge of the world you wouldn’t have to lock your doors at night. You wouldn’t have to be scared to go to school and you would never be hungry or homeless.

If I were in charge of the world I’d save the animals,Stop pollution,And make sure no one is left out.There’d be polar bears as pets,Nobody will be mean,And school doesn’t start until 10:00am.If I were in charge of the world you wouldn’t have to wake up early,You wouldn’t get sick from candy (you can still eat it!),You wouldn’t have a bedtime,Or need money.

I Used to, But Now…

I used to be small but now I’m taller.I used to not like sports but now I like sports.I used to be shy but now I’m not shy.I used to have a cat but now I have a dog.I used to not have good handwriting but now I have good handwriting.

I used to be a pest,But now I’m not,I used to cry about my problems’But now I solve them,I used to be small and scared,But now I’m big and proud,I used to wear a diaper,But now I wear boxers,I used to be young and not smart,But now I’m older and knowledgeable.

I used to fall off when ridingBut now I hold onI used to be afraid of fallingBut now I just enjoy ridingI used to have to stretch to get on But now I just climb the fence I used to have bumpy ridesBut now they are becoming smootherI used to have lots of rodeosBut now I can control my horse enough that those don’t happen

I used to play video games all day but now I get out side more I used to eat unhealthy but now I eat more healthy I used to not sleep well but now I sleep better I used to lie a lot but now I don’t lie as much I used to be lazy but now I’m more active

I used to pick my nose but now I don’tI used to play Nintendo but now I play Xbox 360I used to play pretend army but now I play it on Xbox I used to swallow gum but now I spit it out when its doneI used to be in 4th grade but now I'm in 5th grade

Today I am like an eagle,Yesterday I was like a hawk,To my mom I am like a treasure,To my dad I am like an athlete,My friends think I am like a one of a kind friend,Really I’m like an eagle.

Today I’m like a football in the air.Yesterday I was like a twig being snapped in half.To my mom I’m like an angel from the heavens.To my dad I’m like a lucky charm.To my friends I’m like a treasure chest holding all their secrets.Really I’m a 10 year old boy.

Dear Mom,I would like to tell you that I love you.You tell me that you love me.You tell my to do well in school.You tell me to do my best.I would like to tell you thank you for you’re support.So during our next encounter when you see meI will tell you I'm glad to be with you.I will tell you I’m glad you’re my motherAnd that’s a promise

You tell me don’t give up.You tell me don’t be afraid.You tell me I will be there for you.I would like to tell you I love you.So during our next encounter when you say, “how was school?”I will thank you for being there for me.I will say you are the best grandparents.And that’s a promise.

If My Fists Could Speak…

If my fist could speak it would tell people not to bullyIf my feet could speak they would say they stink.If my ears could speak they'd say keep feeding me knowledge If my heart could speak it would say give me oxygenIf my brain could deal with everything it would want to ask how to start world peace

If my fist could speak , they would tell you “I hit many people before.”If my feet could speak , they would tell you “we never get enough exercise.”If my eyes could speak , they would tell you “I’ve seen many awesome sights.”If my heart could speak it would tell you “I’m full of pride.”If my brain could deal with everything ,it would want to ask “ Why can’t I see stuff and take a break

If my hand could speak it would say stop catching that football, it hurts.If my feet could speak they would say it’s hot in these shoes.If my ears could speak they would ask why it’s so loud.If my eyes could speak they would ask why it’s so bright.If my heart could speak it would say pumping blood is hard.If my brain could deal with everything it would want to ask can I help.

If my feet could speak they would tell you, “ I’ve felt so many different and unique surfaces.”

If my brain could deal with everything, it would want to ask, “ why are people so violent?”

From don’t believe everything you hear and don’t do stupid things. I am from Coeur d’Alene. I am from fish and carrots. From the time I went camping.

I am a curious and special girl. I wonder what the future will be like.I hear many wonderful sounds.I see so many possibilities for the world to become better.I want with all my heart to be a lawyer.I am a curious and special girl.

I pretend I like people that I don’t like.I feel like I am under a lot of pressure.I touch and reach out to new things.I am a curious and special girl.
