was very co—operative during testing. He is of high average intelligence.

During his stay at Iiievin drew very little attention to himself, He was

interested in sporting activities and was willing to help staff when requested. On occasions it was felt that he may have manipulated some of the other boysin the unit but was clever enough not to be found out.

According to his responses on personality measures, does not show any

particularly obvious characteristiom, He is self—assured ahd cemplacent and

could be referred to as a circumspect individual who thinks about his actionsand is cautious. Apart from these traits, which have been apparent when

has been observed, his scores on the other personality factors have been within

average ranges.

In conclusion is a boy of high average ability who has gone through the

assessment process very smoothly for four weeks. He is a quiet individual

who is confident in himself and who says he is keen to get a trade qualific

ation eventually.

When I was aged , I was sent to live in Lisnevin House in Millisle. This would have been in

. This was due to family problems at home. During the first week of being there, I

was in the shower block one day. I was naked. There was no one else there. One of the male

staff members came into the shower block too. He was fully dressed. I cannot remember what

his name was, nor can I remember much about him. He had . I do not know what age

he was. He cupped his hand around my penis and testicles and told me I was not allowed to

masturbate in the showers. He walked back out of the shower block. I do not know if he was

touching me in a sexual way and was getting pleasure from doing this, or if it was simply as a

warning that I was not allowed to masturbate. There were no witnesses to this incident. The

only staff member I remember was I cannot remember what any of the men were

called. I did not tell anyone about it at the time, though many years later I think I may have

mentioned it to my . I was in Lisnevin for around 8 weeks, and then moved

back home. That was the only incident of abuse that happened in Lisnevin.

The following year, I think in , I was charged with and was sent to St Patrick's

Training School, Glen Road, Belfast for assessment. On arrival, I was brought into the office to

meet one of the Brothers. I do not know what his name was, in fact, I cannot remember any

. He was very nice to me, and stoked my face and hair. He told me

everything would be OK and that he would look after me while I was in St Pat's. He took my

hand and placed it on his penis, on the outside of his clothes. His penis was erect and he was

moaning. It made me feel sick and I was ashamed. I was in St Pat's for around , but

there were no other incidents like this. Every time I saw this Brother, I would try to hide.
