Government Notification

Special Commodity Levy Act, No. 48 of 2007

Order under Section 2

By virtue of the powers vested in me under Section 2 of the Special Commodity Levy Act

No. 48 of 2007, I, Mahinda Rajapaksa, Minister of Finance of the Democratic Socialist

Republic of Sri Lanka, do by this order impose in respect of commodities specified in Column

I of the Schedule hereto the Special Commodity Levy at rates specified in the corresponding

entries in Column II of that Schedule.

This Order shall be valid for a period of 03 months commencing from October 14, 2020

subject to provisions of Sub Section (3) of Section 2 of the Special Commodity Levy Act, No.

48 of 2007.

The Order made under Section 2 of the Special Commodity Levy Act, No. 48 of 2007 and

published in the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2186/32 of 31.07.2020 in respect of

B' Onion and the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2176/18 of 21.05.2020 in respect of

Lentils, Canned Fish and Sugar are rescinded with effect from October 14, 2020.
