PRACTICE

The man enters the bar and looks around. Then he sees her. The woman looks beautiful. When she notices him, she looks into the eyes of the man. He walks towards the lady, gives her a kiss and hands her the orange flower.

When we use a/an or the?

The definite article The is used to metion a particular thing

The indefinite article a/an is used to mention a thing in general.

Examples:

- The capital of France is Paris BUT I was born in a town (in any town)

- I clean the car BUT she buys a car (any car)

- I have a blue pencil BUT do you have a pen (any pen)

PRACTICE

A man and a woman were walking in Oxford Street. The woman saw a dress that she liked in a shop. She asked the man if he could buy the dress for her. He said: "Do you think the shop will accept a cheque? I don't have a credit card."
