Blake Doss

Blake Doss is currently the principal organist at First Presbyterian Church in Neenah,Wisconsin, having previously served at First English Lutheran Church in Appleton,Wisconsin. He has a lifelong passion for good music, both vocal and organ.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Luther College where he sang underWeston Noble and studied organ under William Kuhlman. While there, Blake playedon Luther's magnificent Sipe mechanical-action organ for daily chapel services and forSunday worship services.

Doss earned a Master of Music degree in organ performance from Westminster ChoirCollege where he studied organ under recitalist Ken Cowan and sang in theWestminster Symphonic Choir. Ken Cowan has performed twice at Shepherd of theBay on its Dobson Opus 79 mechanical-action organ and Blake Doss comes to us withMr. Cowan's recommendation.

Blake Doss is a member of the Northeastern Wisconsin chapter of the American Guildof Organists and is an active member of New Voices, a semi-professional choir fromnortheast Wisconsin. He has been a featured performer on the summer LunchtimeOrgan Recital series in the Fox Valley (Neenah/Menasha/Appleton) for ten years,playing one concert on the magnificent Brombaugh organ at the Lawrence UniversityMemorial Chapel in Appleton.

This afternoon Mr. Doss will be joined by pianist Judith Jackson to perform musicwritten for organ and piano. The concert is offered free to the public and a receptionfollows the performance.

A freewill offering will be accepted to support the musical programspresented by the Concert Series at Shepherd of the Bay.
