    Every one of us has psychic ability. We are born with it. Ourpsychic ability is tied in with our natural, instinctual knowledgeof the environment. It is a survival mechanism. In order tosurvive we needed some way to sense when predators might

    be nearby.

    The five standard senses take in information, all kinds ofinformation, we are only aware of a tiny fraction of theinformation being processed at any given moment. Intuitiveknowing is the result of hidden, environmental information beingprocessed, evaluated and formed into a response. All of thistakes place beneath the radar of the conscious self.

    Psychic ability or intuition is linked to a part of the brainresponsible for flight or fight response the basal ganglia. In thehistory of human development this area of the brain is one ofthe oldest and the least understood. While the standard fivesenses receive information about the environment, the intuitivebrain interacts with the world in a much different way.

    The intuitive brain senses subtle shifts in energy, cues in onbody language, verbal inflections and other signs within theenvironment to form a continuously updated status report. A

    status report which might have told us at one time, Run, theresa tiger hiding in the bushes! And now might say things like,Invest in Gold! Much of the literature regarding thedevelopment of psychic abilities has very little in the way ofactual advice for increasing ones natural intuitive skills. Someof the most popular books on the market today refer more tospiritual development than actual psychic development. Whilethese two topics are related, books which claim to offerinstructions regarding intuitive development should offer some

    practical exercises for achieving that goal. Many unfortunatelydo not. The exercises contained in this seven day course offersimple, unique, fun and highly effective methods of psychicdevelopment. The results experienced after performing theexercises detailed in these pages can be quite astonishing.People are amazed when they discover just how limitless theirintuitive skills actually are.

    Instinct and Intuition

    Fear transferred through ancestral knowledge forms the basis

    of instinct. Predatory animals for instance are imprinted uponthe collective memory as creatures to fear; we instinctuallyknow to avoid these creatures without ever having been harmedby one. Fear in its purest form is developed through experience.We learn quickly to fear that which is perceived, whether real orimagined, as a threat to our existence. The fight or flightresponse is an instinctual survival mechanism.

    Intuition is an automatic function of perception. Intuition is the

    instantaneous and holistic perception of the environment. Thefive senses collect information, the mechanism of intuition filtersall information gathered and zeros in on subtle cues provided byphysical awareness. The process of intuitive thinking takesplace beyond the scope of the conscious or sub-conscious.Intuitive filtering occurs in the ancestral brain, the primordialmind.

    Without the primordial mind filtering subtle cues from

    extraneous perception mankind would not have lasted longamong the wild beasts. Indeed intuition is directly connected toour survival as a species. Prior to the complex mentaldevelopment necessary for language, the communication ofdanger signals would have been performed in large part withhand gestures and short, load verbal exchanges.

    The primordial mind relied completely on intuition. Existence atthe earliest stages of our development would have consisted ofstates of alert rest or periods of flight from danger. Intuitionwould account for all environmental perception. There wouldhave been no objective or subjective analysis of sensoryperceptions as exists today. To stop and analyze perceptionswould have invited certain death. Perception consisted ofdanger run or no danger continue life. These two basicstates of perception form the base of all intuitive thoughtprocesses.

    Instincts are a product of both experience and intuition.

    Whereas intuition is a continual process of environmental

    information filtering, instincts are the resulting beliefs created bythe data processed by intuitive functions. We instinctually knowfrom experience, for instance, to seek shelter during harsh

    weather. Experience has taught us basic methods or instincts ofsurvival. Intuition on the other hand may offer informationbeyond the core instinctual responses. We may be guided tothe closest shelter or choose one form of shelter over the otherbased on knowledge offered by the intuitive senses, forexample.

    Sensations of fear, instinct and intuition blend to create what iswidely known as intuitive knowledge or psychic ability. Thesethree sensations, while related, contribute separately to thewhole of psychic or intuitive perception. And while separate,they share a common ancestry; one of a primordial mindexisting in state of constant connectedness and reaction to theenvironment.

    Intuitive sensing is linked directly to ancestral, primordialsurvival traits. With the modernization and industrialization ofsociety, primitive survival traits become less and less important.We are no longer required to venture into the wilderness to

    seek our daily meals. It is no longer necessary for modern manto maintain an intimate connection with the environment. Weselect our dinners from the grocery store shelves and freezers.For many of us the idea of hunting and killing an animal orinstinctually knowing when the proper time to plant a cropseems to be a foreign concept. Modernization of society hasresulted in a reduced capacity to think intuitively. While intuitivesenses will always remain an integral part of human perception,as we become less connected with the environment, the

    intuitive thinking process is neglected and unused. The trendtoward diminishing intuitive senses carries consequencesbeyond simply neglecting a natural skill. Other aspects of ourgrowth as a society are affected as well. Creativity suffers as aresult of the over-dependency on the industrial complex toprovide our daily needs. The connection to the environment, theintimate knowledge of natural cycles and rhythms, theappreciation of all things living and our responsibility and rolesas higher forms of life to care for the planet and its creatures is

    lost without the bridge provided by the intuitive mind.

    Meditation and Psychic Development

    Meditation is the act of entering into a relaxed physical andmental state. The practice of meditation has enormous benefits

    both psychologically and physiologically. Meditation reducesstress, lowers blood pressure, reduces fatigue, increasesenergy levels, and improves ones overall sense of well being.Perhaps most importantly meditation strengthens the bondbetween mind, body and spirit.

    Meditating is much easier than you may have imagined. Most ofus have performed meditation without paying much attention tothe terminology used to describe it. Relaxing with a good book

    on a rainy night; taking a leisurely stroll through the park, manyroutine, daily activities are in fact forms of meditation. Thedifference between these activities and meditation in theclassical sense is that these moments of relaxation are notconsciously entered into, whereas meditation is the act ofconsciously entering into a sublimely relaxed state.

    We start by paying attention to our breathing. The practicaleffort to focus completely on our breathing takes our minds

    away from the mental clutter. Mind chatter that constantly triesto creep into our minds and eliminate feelings that will lead to aperiod of calm. With repeated effort towards the goal of clearingyour mind, the process of meditation takes on its own energy.

    The result is, peace, serenity, calmness, an increase increativity, clearer thinking and eventually opening your self tonew insights. By strengthening the connection between mind,body and spirit through meditation you are able to gain insightsinto your spiritual nature.

    Meditation is for everyone. You are not required to hold anyparticular spiritual or religious belief to enjoy the many benefitsof meditation. It is not necessary to attend workshops inmountain retreats to learn the practice of meditation. All that isrequired is an open mind and a willingness to learn. There are awide variety of meditation practices and techniques to choosefrom but they all share common benefits and work upon thesame mechanism for improving health and well being.

    Our world is fast, furious and exciting. It is also challenging,trying, demanding and frightening.

    These two sides of our lives produce stress, emotionalreactions, anxiety, worry and anticipation. Our bodies andminds can tolerate only so much of any of these. After a while,

    all of us reach a saturation point and the results becomeuncomfortable at best; unbearable, at worst.

    There is no magic pill available to eliminate these feelings. Theanswer to dealing with this over stimulation is inside all of us.

    To manage these universal concerns we must look insideourselves. Among the steps we can take is the learning andpracticing of meditation.

    With time and commitment to practice mediation frequentlyduring your meditation time you may "leave the moment, orexperience what some have referred to as simply being Afeeling of separation from material existence where the mind isclear, clean and blank. A sensation of suspended time is oftenreported, you will still hear sounds around you, but they will notinterfere with your meditation.

    Sometimes you may feel emotional during meditation and this isperfectly natural. It is your own emotions having a voice of their

    own. Sometimes you may feel a smile across your face that iscontentment showing itself. Sometimes you may fall asleep andawaken truly refreshed.

    There is no right or wrong behaviour during your meditation. It isa time for you. Everyone deserves this kind of personalattention. This is a self-healing activity; loving, nurturing andcaring for oneself.

    How to Breathe and Other Useful Information

    Breathing isnt something that most of us pay much attentionto, unless we stop, then breathing tends to get quite a bit of ourattention. Beyond supplying oxygen to the body and providing arelease of waste gasses and chemicals, the act of breathingprovides a point of focus for meditation. By focusing ourattention on our breathing we are strengthening the connection

    between mind and body.

    The first stage of meditation is to remove distractions and makeyour mind clear and calm. This can be accomplished bypractising a simple breathing exercise.

    Choose a quiet place to meditate and sit in a comfortableposition. You can sit in the traditional cross-legged posture or inany other position that is comfortable. If you wish, sit in a chair.

    The important thing is to be comfortable.

    Sit with our eyes partially closed or closed all the way and focusyour attention on your breathing. Breathe naturally, through thenostrils and out of the mouth without attempting to control yourbreath, and try to become aware of the sensation of the breathas it enters and leaves the nostrils. This sensation is your objectof meditation. Try to concentrate on it to the exclusion ofeverything else. At first, your mind will be very busy, and youmight feel that the meditation is making our mind busier; but intruth you are becoming aware of just how busy your mindactually is. There will be a great temptation to follow thedifferent thoughts as they arise, but you should resist this andremain focused single-pointedly on the sensation of the breath.If you discover that your mind has wandered off and is following

    random thoughts, immediately return your focus to yourbreathing.

    Repeat this as many times as necessary until the mind settlesand focuses on the breath. If you practise patiently this way,gradually your distracting thoughts will subside and you willexperience a sense of inner peace and relaxation. Your mindwill feel clear and spacious and you will feel rejuvenated.

    When the sea is rough, sediment is churned up and the waterbecomes murky, but when the wind dies down the mudgradually settles and the water becomes clear. In a similar way,when the otherwise incessant flow of our distracting thoughts iscalmed through concentrating on the breath, your mindbecomes unusually lucid and clear.

    Even though breathing meditation is only a preliminary stage ofmeditation, it can be quite powerful. We can see from this

    practice that it is possible to experience inner peace andcontentment just by controlling the mind, without having to

    depend at all upon external conditions. When the turbulence ofdistracting thoughts subsides and our mind becomes still, adeep happiness and contentment naturally arises from within.

    This feeling of contentment and well-being helps us to cope withthe busyness and difficulties of daily life.

    So much of the stress and tension we normally experiencecomes from our mind, and many of the problems weexperience, including ill health, are caused or aggravated bythis stress. J ust by doing breathing meditation for ten or fifteenminutes each day, we will be able to reduce this stress. We willexperience a calm, spacious feeling in the mind, and many ofour usual problems will fall away. Difficult situations will becomeeasier to deal with, we will naturally feel warm and welldisposed towards other people, and our relationships withothers will improve. Learning to relax, just be, is perhaps one ofthe most important tools available for increasing ones intuitiveabilities.

    Day One Listening

    When you awaken this morning keep your eyes closed for afew minutes before you get out of bed. Resist the temptationto jump out of bed and begin a rush of activity. J ust lay calmlywith your eyes closed and try not to think about all theactivities which lie ahead today. Listen to the various soundsof the morning, neighbors starting their cars and rushing off towork, children waiting for a school bus, birds chirping in thetrees, that sort of thing.

    Try to tune in to as many different sounds as you can,focusing on one, listening for awhile then moving yourattention to something else. It isnt necessary to strain to hearanything or focus your attention for too long on any one thing,relax and let your attention drift from one sound to anothereasily.

    This simple awareness building exercise is actually quitepowerful and if practiced regularly can lead to some amazingresults. You may be surprised at just how many differentsounds you are able to tune into when performing thisexercise. It can be a fascinating experience, especially whenyou begin to realize that you are able to hear many thingsfrom quite some distance.

    Five to ten minutes is more than enough time to practice thisawareness exercise. You may want to set your alarm clock towake you up a few minutes before your usual waking time.

    Give your self a few minutes to experience this very effectiveawareness building technique. Keep a journal near yourbedside and write down any information that comes to you inthe morning.

    Day Two Borderlands

    The moment between being fully asleep and being fully awakeis foreign territory for many of us. We are usually one or theother. The bridge between the two is an important time for thediscovery of intuitive information and profound insights. It is aborderland between the subconscious and the conscious, thespiritual and the material worlds. It is during this time that

    dreams are either remembered or forgotten. J umping out ofbed and rushing to start the day is a sure-fire method of losingtouch with intuitive information provided through dreams

    As with the listening exercise discussed previously, when youawaken this morning, dont rush to indulge in a flurry ofmorning activity. Instead, lay in bed with your eyes closedagain. This time turn your attention to your thoughts and notexternal noises.

    Spend five or ten minutes just relaxing with your eyes closed.Very often you will begin to remember your dreams at thistime. Simply remain relaxed and open to the information youare receiving, dont try to analyze your dreams at this time,focus instead on recording as much detail about your dreamas possible.

    During this time you may also find that instead ofremembering your dreams, your mind is filled with seeminglyrandom thoughts. Your mind flits from one snippet of thoughtto another, jumping from one idea or concept to the next. Aswith before, make an attempt not to analyze or organize thesethoughts. Instead let these thoughts fly through your mindfreely.

    You may at times discover a thought or idea which comes tothe forefront of your consciousness, it emerges above all therest until it is recognized and acknowledged.

    It is important to allow this to happen. Many eureka momentsare created this way.

    You may uncover a deeply profound insight into your life orsituation in this manner. Allow thoughts to bubble up from thesub-conscious. Allow intuitive information to communicatefreely.

    Give your self some time to ease into consciousnessgradually. You will find that you remember your dreams muchmore often and with much more clarity by following thisroutine. Keep a journal handy for writing down any dreams orintuitive insights that seem particularly interesting or profound.

    Carl J ung, one of the fathers of modern psychology, spoke ofarchetypes or characters which reoccur in dreams and canprovide insights into the language and ideas being expressedby the sub-conscious.

    Try to determine what, if any, characters seem to be showingup in your dreams with some kind of regularity. Pay attention

    to what these repeat dream performers are saying to you.They just might be trying to offer a solution to your problemsor are perhaps pointing out a problem that you didnt knowexisted.

    Day Three Sensing

    Start your morning with either of the exercises outlinedpreviously. Remember to keep your eyes closed as you moveinto consciousness. Visual stimulus often overwhelms thesenses.

    The previous two exercises focused on developing awarenessand being receptive to intuitive information. On this third daywe will concentrate on the related act of sensing.

    Intuitively sensing something is an occurrence that happens tomost of us at some point in life. We may have hunches or gutfeelings which seem to come out of nowhere and defy logic. Intruth these sensations are a normal human survivalmechanism. Some may argue that instinctual knowledge isprovided by a mental filtering of information about theenvironment.

    This argument does not explain how instinctual knowing canpredict occurrences which are not part of the immediatesurroundings. The act of sensing or instinctually knowing is askill that can be trained and exercised.

    While you are at work or in any other public place be open tothe idea of being able to sense where other people may have

    been standing or sitting recently. As you walk through somepublic place such as a grocery store, office, library, or anyother place where people tend to gather, try to sense whenyou walk through a location that was recently occupied bysomeone.

    Human beings and other animals leave an energy signaturebehind which lingers for quite some time after they depart anarea. This residual energy signature can be sensed. Often

    there is a sensation of slight warmth on the face and back ofthe hands when walking through a space which was recently

    occupied. Pay attention through out the day as you arewalking around; notice any sudden warming on your face andhands.

    You may not notice any temperature changes on the surfaceof your skin and still have the sensation that someone mayhave been standing in an area recently.

    Make a mental note anytime you feel that you are walkingthrough a space which was previously occupied by someone.

    This exercise can be challenging to some people as this issomething a bit different than the ordinary experience. If youare having difficulty sensing the energy signatures of people,try enlisting the help of friend. Have your friend stand in themiddle of a room for about five minutes. Then, ask the friendto move away from the spot. Walk through the room whilepaying attention to any temperature variations or slight energyvibrations, walk to the spot where your friend was juststanding and pause briefly to determine if you can notice anydifference in the energy of the area. Repeat this procedure atdifferent spots with the room or building until you feel

    confident in your sensing abilities. At this point ask your friendto go to a room and stand in one spot for five minutes andthen return to you while you wait at a different spot, out ofsight.

    When your friend returns, walk to the room where he or shewas previously and attempt to sense the location that theyhave been standing at.

    With a little practice you will notice an increase in your abilityto sense the location of areas where people have beenstanding or sitting for any length of time. Eventually you willbegin to notice subtle differences in your sensing based onthe duration of time that spaces have been occupied. Thesesubtle differences may manifests in a variety of ways and areof a highly individual nature. You may even become aware ofthought energies attached to locations that have beenoccupied by people exhibiting strong emotions.

    Day Four Perception

    This exercise is designed to shift your focus from a visual orliteral perception and help you tune into a more intuitive modeof thinking.

    More often than not, what you see and perceive is not a very

    reliable method of gathering information. Take a coupleenjoying a meal at a restaurant for example.

    If you rely totally on visual and audio clues to form aperception of this couple you will usually only receive a vagueidea about who they are or might be. Most often yourperception will not reflect a true representation of what you arewitnessing. You might notice that they are both wearingwedding rings and assume that they are married. Or you

    might happen to overhear a bit of their conversation whichleads you to believe that they might be co-workers. Later onyou learn that the couple is a brother and sister, discussingthe family business. Your initial perceptions were off the mark.

    Today grab a pen and a notebook and head out to yourfavorite shopping mall or restaurant, any place where peoplegather in numbers. Sit quietly and observe people as theywander by. Choose people at random to focus your attention

    on.

    As you spot someone write down any thoughts about themthat come to mind. Try not to focus on obvious descriptions,instead make an attempt to form an overall impression of theperson and write down these feelings.

    Dont spend too much time focusing on any one person, moveon to someone else and try to form an impression of them. Ifyou cant seem to form an impression of someone, move on tothe next person.

    Follow your instinct and intuition about the impressions thatyou receive about the people you see. You may find your selfwriting down words like, good natured, lonely, etc.

    Try to avoid reporting physical descriptions like skinny or shortand focus on the core impressions that you form. You maynotice that your intuitive impressions dont always agree withyour initial perceptions of the people you have beenobserving. In fact they often conflict.

    For instance you might notice someone wearing expensiveclothing and jewelry who for all outward appearances seemsto be quite wealthy yet your intuitive impression forms theword poor in your mind.

    Dont let the rational, logical mind interfere with the intuitiveinformation that manifests during this exercise. Allowinstinctual impressions to form freely and unobstructed.

    Pay less attention to the physical characteristics of the peopleyou observe and focus more on first impressions.

    Report these intuitive observations in your notebook.

    Day Five Connecting

    The connection between mind, body and spirit is perhaps themost important concern for increasing intuition and psychicabilities. Meditation provides an invaluable tool forstrengthening these bonds as well as for connecting to a

    universal source of information and insight.

    If you are new to the practice of meditation then you will findthe following exercise to be quite simple. If meditation isalready part of your daily routine, this exercise will provide anexcellent method for maintaining a healthy source of intuitiveinformation.

    Begin by finding a comfortable place to perform yourmeditation. This can be any place of your choosing, providedthat you find it comfortable and relaxing. It is not required foryou to sit, though you may, if you choose. Many people find itdifficult to sit still for any length of time. Standing or evenwalking slowly is perfectly acceptable for the sake of thisexercise.

    Focus your attention on your breathing. Notice the air as itenters your body. Try to breathe in through your nose andexhale through your mouth. Take slow, deep breaths.

    Inhale slowly through your nose and hold the breath in for nineseconds, then exhale slowly for another nine seconds, countout the seconds steadily, not rushed and not sluggish,

    try to find a pace that feels comfortable, just remember torelax your breathing.

    Inhale for nine seconds, exhale for nine seconds, and repeatthis process nine times. With every breath, imagine that you

    are inhaling precious life giving air and exhaling any unwantedenergies. After you have repeated this cycle nine times youcan begin your visualization. Try to maintain the rhythm ofyour breathing without counting it out in your head.

    At this point you may notice random thoughts popping intoyour head, simply dismiss them as they enter your mind, letthem slip away easily.

    Imagine that you are walking across a dry and sandylandscape. The temperature is comfortable, the air is easy tobreath and you feel at ease.

    As you walk along you notice a shape on the horizon. As younear the shape you see that it is a stone building, a round,stone building with a single door. You are facing the door andnow you see that this door is slightly open and a light iscoming from inside.

    Now, you are standing at the door and decide to push thedoor open. You open the door and enter the stone building.

    Inside you see a round room with a table in the centre. Theroom is well lit, warm and comfortable. You approach the tableand notice a small wooden box, paper and a pen.

    You form a question in your mind that you would likeanswered, an issue that you would like resolved, it does nottake you any time to form this question. You write thisquestion on the paper before you and place the paper in thebox. You see the box has a lid and you close it.

    After a moment you open the box, you see that the question isno longer written there, instead an answer has appeared. Youtake the answer with you as you leave the building and returnto your present space. Record what you have learned in your

    journal.

    You may see immediate results with this exercise or it maytake several attempts before the answers found within the box

    make any sense to you.

    Over time this visualization becomes much easier to enter intoand you may be tempted to treat this exercise as some sort oforacle. This is not the true intention.

    Instead what we are trying to accomplish is entering into thereceptive mode of meditation that was spoken of earlier.

    The easier it is to enter into this state the more likely it is thatyou will become tuned into receiving intuitive information.Make a habit of performing meditation if you truly wish toreceive intuitive information.

    Day Six Call ing a Counci l

    One of the oldest methods of seeking intuitive knowledgeinvolves seeking the council of a universal source of energyand wisdom. For thousands of years, perhaps since the birthof mankind, tribal wise men and women have consulted withancestral spirits in times of need.

    You can utilize the same method of communication used bytribal shamen to converse with an inner council of elders andwise men, sub-conscious archetypes willing to share a wealthof ancestral knowledge.

    Begin by entering into a meditative state as outlined in theprevious exercise.

    Inhale for nine seconds, exhale for nine seconds, and repeat

    this process nine times. With every breath, imagine that youare inhaling precious life giving air and exhaling any unwantedenergies. After you have repeated this cycle nine times youcan begin your visualization. Try to maintain the rhythm ofyour breathing without counting it out in your head.

    At this point you may notice random thoughts popping intoyour head, simply dismiss them as they enter your mind, letthem slip away easily.

    Four men and four women make up the body of your council.Combined they share the wisdom of the ancients, theycommunicate by voicing intuitive information through your

    sub-conscious. One by one your councillors arrive and take aseat to form a circle around you.

    You greet each one as they arrive. Some are old, some areyoung, and each councillor seems to be wearing a differentsort of ceremonial garment.

    When the final councillor arrives you may decide to form aquestion for them to ponder and answer, or you may wish tosimply allow each of the councillors to share their particularwisdom and insight. When you have finished listening to theadvice of your councillors, thank them and end the session bydismissing the gathering.

    Take some time to write down any information that you havereceived. Try not to over analyse things at this point, justmake a record of what you have learned.

    Day Seven Filtering and Analysis

    The previous six days of intuition building exercises haveincluded instructions for maintaining a journal of yourexperiences. On this seventh day of your psychicdevelopment training take an hour or two to analyze theinformation recorded in our journal.

    On day two we discussed the importance of allowing intuitiveinformation to bubble to the surface of awareness uponwaking in the morning. What information did you record? Canyou see how the information recorded in your journal appliesto your present life situation?

    On day four you were instructed to observe people in a pubicplace and record any intuitive information that might presentitself as you focused on random passers by.

    Can you see how relying solely on visual perceptions to formimpressions can be misleading? Were you surprised to learnhow much intuitive knowledge differs from superficialperceptions?

    On day five you practiced a form of focused meditation toconnect to intuitive knowledge. What information recorded inyour journal is directly related to your present life situation. Did

    you find this exercise insightful? Do you see how simple aprocess tapping into intuitive knowledge can be?

    On day six you called a council of advisors to offer insightsand wisdom while performing a meditation. What informationreceived is pertinent to your situation?

    Write down any words or phrases or ideas which have beenrecorded in your journal more than once.

    Creative Visualization and Psychic Development

    I have included information regarding creative visualization andpsychic development to augment the previous exercises containedin this book. Visualization is an important tool used to maintain aconnection with the intuitive mind. Following is an overview ofvisualization methods as well as nine visualizations designed tostrengthen the mind, body, spirit connection.

    In order to understand how Creative Visualization works, it's usefulto understand two related principles

    The physical universe is energy. All life is energy. All

    thoughts are preceded by a corresponding energy

    Whatever you put out to the universe will be reflected back toyou. Negativity creates and attracts more negativity .Positive

    Thought Creates positive energy

    While creative visualization is thinking positively, it is much morethan wishful thinking. It is a mental process establishing a goal andthen imagining the process of attaining that goal. Vision isn'tmagic, it requires perseverance and patience, but it works. Stickwith it and creative visualization can be a useful tool to manifestyour dreams

    Four Basic Steps for Effective Creative Visualization

    1. Set a goal2. Form a clear idea or picture of your goal3. Focus on it often, keep the goal in your thoughts

    4. Give it as much positive energy, belief, conviction as you can

    Affirmations

    Affirmations are one of the most important elements of creativevisualization. An affirmation is a strong, positive statement thatsomething is already so. It is a way of "making firm" that which youare imaging.

    The practice of doing affirmations allows us to begin replacingsome of our stale, worn out, or negative mind chatter with morepositive ideas and concepts. It is a powerful technique, one thatcan in a short time completely transform our attitudes andexpectations about life, and thereby totally change what we createfor ourselves.

    An affirmation can be any positive statement:

    Everything I need is already within me.The universe is unfolding perfectly.All things are now working together for good in my life.I love and appreciate myself.

    Here are some important things to remember:

    1. Always phrase affirmations in the present tense.2. Always phrase affirmations in the most positive way you can.3. In general, the shorter and simpler the better.

    4. Always use affirmations that feel totally right for you.5. Always remember that you are creating something new, not

    trying to redo or change what already exists, which wouldcreate conflict.

    6. Affirmations are not meant to contradict or try to change yourfeelings or emotions, even the so-called "negative" ones.

    7. Temporarily suspend your doubts and hesitations, and putyour full mental and emotional energy into your affirmations.

    When you are coming out of the empty, grasping, manipulativecondition, the first and foremost lesson to be learned is to just let

    Often people try to live their lives backwards: They try to have

    more things in order to do more of what they want, so that they willbe happier.

    The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who youreally are, then do what you need to do in order to have what youwant.

    Three Necessary Elements

    1. Desire - a clear, strong sense of purpose2. Belief - that it can exist, and that it can exist for you3. Acceptance - are you willing to have what you want

    completely (pro and con)?

    Go With the Flow

    The only effective way to use creative visualization is "going withthe flow." That means that you don't have to "effort" to get where

    you want to go; you simply put it out clearly to the universe whereyou would like to go, and then patiently and harmoniously followthe flow of the river of life until it takes you there.

    Going with the flow means holding onto your goals lightly (eventhough they may seem very important) and being willing to changethem if something better comes along. Going with the flow is thebalance between keeping your destination clearly in mind, and yetalso enjoying all the beautiful scenes along the way, and even

    being willing to change your destination if life starts carrying you ina better direction. The only successful manifestation is one which

    brings about a change or growth in consciousness; that is, it hasmanifested or revealed itself in spirit, as well as having manifesteda material form.

    Accepting

    In order to use creative visualization to create what you want inlife, you must be willing and able to accept the best that life has tooffer you you are "good." Many of us have difficulty accepting thepossibility of having what we want in life. This usually stems from

    some basic feelings of unworthiness which we took on at a veryearly age. Affirmations and creative

    visualization are a wonderful way of creating a more positive andloving self-image. First, it lets you accept and love yourself as youare. Second, it lets you start creating yourself as you want to be.

    Abundance

    A very important part of the whole creative visualization process isprosperity programming. This means having the understanding, orconsciously taking the point of view, that the universe is totallyabundant...it is a cornucopia of everything that your heart couldever desire, both on the material plane and on emotional, mental,and spiritual planes as well. One of the most common causes offailing to get what you want is "scarcity programming." The truthabout this earth is that it is an infinitely good, beautiful, nourishingplace to be. The only "evil" comes from lack of understanding of

    this truth. Evil (ignorance and fear) is like a shadow - it has no realsubstance of its own, it is simple a lack of light. You cannot causea shadow to disappear by trying to fight it - you must shine a lighton it.     Another key principle is that of giving, or "outflowing." Once webegin to accept the goodness of the universe, we naturally want toshare it as well, realizing that as we give out of our energy, wemake space for more to flow into us. When through insecurity we

    try to hold onto what we have, we begin to cut off this wonderfulflow of energy

    Energy takes many forms, such as love, affection, appreciationand recognition, material possessions, money, friendship, etc., andthe principles apply equally to all these forms.

    Visualization

    First, think of something you would like. It might be an object youwould like to have, an event you would like to happen, a situationin which you'd like to find your self, or some circumstance in yourlife you'd like to improve. Get in a comfortable position, eithersitting or lying down, in a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.Relax your body completely. Breathe slowly and deeply. Countdown slowly from 10 to 1, feeling your self getting more deeply

    relaxed with each count.

    When you feel deeply relaxed, start to imagine the thing you wantexactly as you would like it. You may imagine what people aresaying, or any details that make it more real to you. You may takea relatively short time or quite a few minutes to imagine this -whatever feels best for you. It should be a thoroughly enjoyableexperience, like a child daydreaming.

    Now keeping the idea or image still in your mind, make some verypositive, affirmative statement about it. end your visualization witha firm statement to yourself:

    This or something even better, will now manifests for me incomplete and harmonious ways, for the highest good of allconcerned.

    This leaves room for something different and even better than youoriginally envisioned happening, and serves as a reminder to you

    that this process only functions for the mutual benefit of all. Ifdoubts or contradictory thoughts arise, don't resist them or try to

    prevent them. This will tend to give them a power they don'totherwise have. J ust let them flow through your consciousnessand return to your positive statements and images.

    Relax

    It's important to relax deeply when you are first learning to usecreative visualization. When your body and mind are deeply

    relaxed, your brain wave pattern actually changes. This deeper,slower level is commonly called alpha level, which has been foundto be a very healthful state of consciousness.

    It has also been found to be far more effective than the moreactive beta level in creating real changes in the so-called objectiveworld, through the use of visualization. It is especially useful toperform creative visualizations at night just before sleeping, or inthe morning just after awakening, because at those times the mind

    and body are often already deeply relaxed and receptive. Inaddition, a short period of relaxation and creative visualizationdone at mid-day will relax and renew you, and cause your day toflow more smoothly.

    Creative Visualizations

    The following visualizations have been designed to strengthen

    the energy of the spirit. Each of the following visualizationsdeals with strengthening a specific aspect or characteristic ofspiritual energy. By doing so we are able assure ourselves ofspiritual health and well-being. Spiritual health is crucial for thecontinued development of intuition and psychic ability.

    The Breath of Life

    As we breathe we are rejuvenating the physical body.Molecules of air are filtered through the sinus passages and

    into the lungs. The spiritual self is also rejuvenated by the actof breathing. Energy is taken into the spiritual body, positivein, negative out.

    Use your preferred relaxation or meditation technique to enterinto a state of tranquillity and rest.

    Picture in your mind, the image of your spiritual self, imagine abody of pure glowing light.

    This body of light exists within you, its energy radiates beyondthe limit of the physical self. Imagine the body of light that isyour spirit expanding and contracting slightly as you breathe inand out, just as your physical body does. While the materialbody inhales and exhales air, the spiritual body exchanges

    energy with the universe. See in your mind the spiritual bodyof light inhaling and attracting positive energy. The light bodypulses with a rejuvenation of energy. With each breath anycontamination of the spirit is expelled and replaced with thepristine energy of all things.

    Watch as your spiritual body inhales positive, cool, blueenergy and exhales warm, reddish negative waste energy.Feel the physical body react to this exchange of energy. Feelthe sensation of cool air and energy entering your body andthe warm air and energy leaving the body and spirit.

    Embracing The Infinite

    The goal of this visualization is to provide and instant

    connection with the power of spirit.Can you imagine your spiritual self as existing not merely in onespace and time but in an endless variety of times anddimensions? To some this concept may seem outlandish, toyou I would ask that you suspend the voice of the logical mindand bear with me while I explain the importance ofunderstanding the non-local, multidimensional nature of thespiritual self.

    Have you ever seen the reflection caused when one mirrorfaces another? The image is repeated into infinity, graduallyreduced in size until only the smallest of reflected images isvisible.If you were able to magnify this reflection a million times youwould see a million reflections in the mirror.

    The spiritual self exists in a plane of existence separate fromthe material or physical world in which we spend the majority of

    our time. The energy of the spirit exist not just in the planedirectly connected to our physical reality, but in an infinitenumber of localities and times, past present and future.

    The existence of the spiritual self stretches back in time to thebeginning and forward in time into infinity as well as in anendless number of parallel universes. I call the world of thespirit the Metaverse, the beyond place.

    For the purposes of this exercise I would like to you to imagineyour spiritual self reflected in a vast mirror, repeatedly reflected

    Now imagine that these separate spiritual energies are capableof communicating with one another, capable of transcendingtime and space, capable being united, joining forces.

    While in a meditative state, with the eyes closed, reach out withyour hands. Picture in your mind, your spiritual self existing inan infinite number of times and spaces, now imagine everyversion of the spiritual energy coming into focus, converginginto one, joining all times and spaces into one cohesive andsingular energy, the energy of you existing in the absolute now.Feel the sensation of the inter-dimensional spirit selves reachout to you; feel them in unison touch your outstretched hands.At that moment, know without doubts that you are connected to

    an infinite source of energy and power. While you visualize thisevent taking place, speak the following words:

    This visualization is designed to connect to the energy ofcreation, the energy responsible for growth and birth, the

    formation of ideas and concepts. This visualization isparticularly useful to perform when solutions to perplexingproblems are needed or when a difficult decision must be made.Connect to the higher self and higher forms of energy forguidance and the emergence of new ideas.

    While in a relaxed state or during the practice of meditation,close your eyes and imagine the night sky full of stars. Theinfinite universe is spread before you in of its beautiful mystery.

    Form a question in your mind as you gaze upon the night skyfull of stars, your question may regard anything at all but thisexercise is most suited to finding guidance regarding importantdecisions. It is not required for you to speak your question,simply keep it in your thoughts as you visualize the universe.Now, stretch out your arm and draw the symbol of a large spiralin the night sky. Move your hand in a clockwise direction as youdraw the spiral. Imagine the star filled sky following themovement of the spiral motion. As you draw the spiral in the sky

    repeat the following affirmation:

    The Answer Room

    In a relaxed or meditative state, clear the mind of consciousthoughts. Picture in your mind a clearing in the woods. You arewalking casually through the clearing when you notice a

    doorway hidden among the trees. The door is unlocked and youopen it, you enter a candle lit room. This is the room ofanswers, a method of communication with spiritual energy. Inthis place you are in contact with the infinite energy of all things.

    Through the conduit of your own spiritual energy you arecapable of engaging in conversation of a sort with the energy ofthe universe, a conscious and sentient energy

    Sitting on a wooden table is a small ornate box, a few sheets ofpaper and a pen.

    Form a question in your mind. Your question can be aboutanything you choose, relationships, career, family, financialadvice anything at all.

    You write your question on a piece of paper and place it in thebox. You open the lid to the box and look at the paper, written

    on it now is the answer to your question. Can you read what it

    At first the answers to your question may seem jumbled andmake little sense, the sentient universe speaks in a language ofenergy and it may be difficult for the spiritual self to translatethese energies into understandable concepts and ideas.

    The spiritual body is not confined to the same physical shape asthe material body. The spiritual self is capable of taking on anyshape or dimension imaginable. The following exercise is usedto instruct the spiritual body to change shape.

    During this exercise you will be performing an out of bodyexperience which can be unnerving to some. The purpose ofthis exercise is to strengthen the connection of mind and spirit.

    The will of the mind is communicated to the energy of the spiritand the spirit responds with a demonstration of shape changingabilities. The spirit in any form is constantly attached the

    physical body and there is never a danger of spirit becoming

    To many the experience of witnessing the spiritual selfunrestricted to the physical body is a profound and life altering

    Sit comfortably and enter into a relaxed state. Focus yourattention as always on the rhythm of your breathing. As youbreathe you exhale any negative thought energy.

    Residual harmful energies that you may have come into contactwith or possibly created in recent days is expelled from the bodyand surrounding field of influence. As you inhale you call uponthe energy of all things, fresh, new life energy is drawn into thebody. The physical self is revitalized, you feel a surge of healthypower enter the lungs and fill your body. Your body begins to

    feel lighter as the weight of residual negativity is released anddissipates into nothingness.

    Focus your attention on the spiritual self. Imagine tracing theoutline of your body with a pen filled with an ink made of light.Fill in this outline with pure, vibrating light energy. Once youhave this image firmly established in your mind, picture the form

    of the spiritual self standing up and walking a few feet in front ofyou, turning around and looking down at your physical self. Seethrough the eyes of the spiritual self, examine the physical bodysitting there. Now switch back to the physical body, see theform of the spiritual self, switch back as many times as youwish, seeing from the physical and switching to the spiritualperspective.

    Return your perspective to the physical self and examine the

    spiritual body before you. Instruct the spiritual body to changesize. Observe as the spiritual form expands in size, realize that

    there is no limit to the size of the spiritual self, limit the spiritualself to growing in size for the time being to perhaps three or fourtimes the size of the physical body, in future visualizations youmay wish to experiment with various shapes and sizes of the

    spiritual body, for now lets just stick to a manageable size. Asyou watch the spiritual self grow in size notice how the amountof energy within the form does not change or diminish.

    Now instruct the spiritual form to return to its original size,instantly the spiritual energy form is reduced in size to matchthat of the physical self. As you perform this visualization repeatthe following affirmation;

    I am one with my spiritual self

    Feeling The Ground

    This visualization involves a practice of what many have

    referred to as grounding or centering this is a process ofreconnecting with physical energy, the energy of nature, theearth, your physical birth place.

    While previous meditations and visualizations mentioned in thiswriting have focused on transcending the realm of physicalexistence, this exercise is designed to strengthen theconnection to the earth-bound energies which nourish andsustain the physical self.

    Sit comfortably in a high backed chair. Make sure that your feet

    are bare and planed flatly on the ground or floor. Place yourhands on your knees, palms facing up. Focus your mind on thesensations felt by your feet. The energy of the earth is carriedthrough the souls of your feet, up your legs, torso, head and

    As the energy travels through your open hands it travelsupward into the sky, where it mixes with the energy of theatmosphere and descends like rain back to the earth. You are aconduit of the earth energy, as it passes through your body youare aware of the healing quality of the energy, you feel your selfbeing filled with a sense of vitality and peace as every cell ofyour body is rejuvenated and restored.

    As you conduct this visualization affirm:

    I am always connected to the healing energy of the earth

    The Circle of Light

    Similar to the grounding exercise outlined above is a techniqueused to tune into a continuous stream of universal energy.Again sit in a comfortable chair with your feet touching theground. Place your hands on your knees as before with yourpalms facing upward.

    Picture in your mind a stream of light emanating from the centerof the universe, the stream consist of countess glowing, golden

    spheres of life energy. The energy stream finds its way to you,meandering through existence until it comes to flow through into

    the palm of your left hand. As the energy stream enters yourhand you are filled instantly with the warmth of love. The energyof all life courses through your being. You feel a slight warmingsensation in your hand which travels up your arm, up your

    As the energy reaches the base of your skull you becomeaware of pleasant buzzing or vibration taking place at the baseof skull. The energy moves in the motion of a spiral while itlingers for awhile at the base of the skull and then travels to theright shoulder, down the right arm and out of the right palm. Asit passes through the palm of your right hand the energy createsa vast circle, into the left hand, out through the right hand andinto infinity and back, the energy creates a loop stretching intothe farthest reaches of the universe, and beyond that intoparallel dimensions of space and time. The life energy streamthen returns to the center of the universe. Use this visualizationto increase your contact with universal life energy and as youdo so repeat the following affirmation:
