The proposed grant is to cover a portion of the cost of the Million Pet Soirée - a fundraiser and celebration of SNPLA’s 200,000th spay/neuter surgery. These funds would leverage the Council’s monies to provide a platform for a robust individual giving event - thus multiplying your funds to help pets in need!

Building Blocks for Kids (BBfK) works to empower underprivileged youth economically by providing real-world financial literacy tools. Theses incentive-based activities such as monthly assignments or scholarship opportunities will be on the following topics: Budgeting, Banking/Investing, Credit/Credit cards, Loans/Insurance, Health/Wellness, Education, Jobs/Taxes. Participants receive full access to their bank account when they graduate from high school. At which point the student will decide if the money goes towards education or retirement. Please see program outline (attached) for more detailed information.

Building Blocks for Kids works directly with partner organizations such as non-profits, schools, foster care agencies, and after-school programs to identify eligible participants. The students will be enrolled in the program between the ages of 9-18 and remain enrolled until they graduate high school. 60 students (30 per classroom) will be evaluated after each of the modules over the course of the semester to determine how well they have retained the information. Please see program outline (attached) for more detailed information. All funds from the NPG grant will cover program cost, scholarships and incentive will come from BBfK's operational budget.
