Our work to dateThe Seven Lochs Wetland Park is a spatial priority for Green Network delivery. Existing high quality habitat, on-going social and economic regeneration, and future development plans create an exciting opportunity to demonstrate how to integrate development, placemaking and regeneration with the expansion of the Green Network.

Our award winning Seven Lochs vision and masterplan makes proposals to expand existing habitat networks, create ‘gateway’ visitor centres, and improve walking and cycling networks. A more detailed Green Network Strategy examines links between the Park and surrounding communities, and Green Infrastructure plans look at opportunities to integrate planned development within the surrounding wetland environment.

Development work has helped achieve a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) first-round pass for the Seven Lochs Heritage project. Work is ongoing on a second-round HLF application to support a 5-year, £6.5 million implementation programme.

Our plans for the futureA Seven Lochs Partnership has been established to lead development and management of the Seven Lochs Wetland Park as a flagship site within the Central Scotland Green Network working with partners to;

• complete the Seven Lochs Heritage Project development phase and secure funding

• promote the Park and associated Green Network to local communities and involve them in its design and delivery

• plan and deliver Integrated Green Infrastructure in new developments in and around the Seven Lochs

• develop projects which link management of the Park to local socio-economic and regeneration priorities

• ensure the Park supports wider flood risk management and climate change strategies, and delivers vital ecosystem services
