The dance routineis very intimate and sexual which could be seen asprovocative which again gives off the impressionthat she is very confident with her body. 3. INTERTEXTUAL REFERENCING.Intertextual referencing in a music video would be if the video isreferring to another text.The opening title to Lady Gagas music video for Telephone couldbe seen as a movie opening as there are credits such asStreamline Presents Telephone, Starring Lady Gaga, Beyonce andTG these credits are typical conventions of a movie.The text that appears in the music video shadows Jackie Brown asthe font, colour and the size of the text is very similar. 4. INTERTEXTUAL REFERENCING.Another example of Intertextual referencingthat is shown in Lady Gagas music video isBeyonces nickname. Beyonce was calledHoney Bee which is a reference to thecharacter Honey Bunny in Tarantinos 1994crime film Pulp Fiction. 5. HOMAGE/INTERTEXTUAL REFERENCING.Homage is respectful imitation.The car (pussy wagon) that appears in themusic video to Telephone is directly taken fromthe film Kill Bill, which is homage as it is animitation from an already made, successful filmand it is used respectfully. However, the directorsaid that the music video wasnt supposed tomirror Kill Bill.Another example of homage in the music videowould be when Lady Gaga and Beyonce wenton a killing spree this mirrors what Thurmandid in Quentin Tarantino Flice. 6. BRICOLAGEBricolage is when you borrow something fromother forms of media.In Lady Gagas music video, she plays astereotypical 50s housewife and she usesbricolage when she adds the poison into asandwich to show how she felt about womenrights.Another example is when she challengeswomen/gender stereotypes of the perfecthousewife that is portrayed in the 1950s popculture. REFLECTIONFrom this task, I learned what types of things toinclude in my video and that sometimes othermusic artists use postmodern features that linkwith other, well-known medias, such as movies,so that it attracts a wider audience and itsmore appealing to others. I have also learnedthat artists mirror other medias in their musicvideos so that it is memorable and theaudience will like the video and the song moreif they mirror their favourite films. Whencreating my music video, I will take intoaccount all of these theories and I will try touse them in my video so that I can attract asmuch of a wide audience as possible.
