7 Ways to Manage Stress http://revivehealthcentres.com/ Everyone knows that stress can have serious consequences on your health. People tend to do self-destructive things when they are under a lot of stress. Keeping your stress in check is important, not only on your mental health, but also for your overall health. There are seven proven methods to help manage your stress so you can live a better life. 1) Exercise regularly. With only 30 minutes of exercise a day, you will release much of your stress and fell better, physically. Vigorous exercise works best, but taking a brisk walk or going for a swim will have much the same affect. 2) Watch your diet. If you eat poorly, you stand a better chance of being stressed. However, with a healthy diet, your body feels better, as does your mind, so you are able to handle the stresses of life that inevitably come along. 3) Stay away from drugs, cigarettes and alcohol as much as possible. Many people think that alcohol and drugs take the stress away, but the truth of the matter is, they only mask the stress. Cigarettes elevate your blood pressure, which causes stress on your body. Without these vices, you can find healthier alternatives to managing your stress. 4) Get enough sleep. If you're tired all of the time, you have the potential for feeling stressed from irritability. Most people need at least 8 hours of sleep at night to feel refreshed. If you aren't able to get a full night's sleep, try taking a short nap during the day. Being tired puts stress on your body and when you don't feel well, you are more likely to be stressed. 5) Relax. By doing something that relaxes you, you will feel the stress melt away. Happy people rarely feel stress. Watch your favourite film, write, read a book, or go dancing. Yoga is great for relaxing, too. Whatever it is that relaxes you, take time to do it, even for a short time, each day. 6) Find a hobby. Try to find something you like to do; something that doesn't feel like work. A hobby will also relax you, which will take much of your stress away. If there is something you love to do, that doesn't feel like you have to “work” at it, find time to do it. 7) Talk to someone. Find someone whom you can trust and is a good listener. It doesn't matter who it is. Sometimes we all just need to vent and venting relieves stress. If there isn't anyone you can talk to, vent on paper. Once you have released it, throw it away and let it go. This same rule applies to talking it out. Once you have let it out, let it go. You'll be surprised at how much better you feel once you have let it out. It's not easy to manage stress, but it is possible. You only need try. Try these

Everyone knows that stress can have serious consequences on your health. People

tend to do self-destructive things when they are under a lot of stress. Keeping

your stress in check is important, not only on your mental health, but also for

your overall health. There are seven proven methods to help manage your stress

so you can live a better life.

1) Exercise regularly. With only 30 minutes of exercise a day, you will release

much of your stress and fell better, physically. Vigorous exercise works

best, but taking a brisk walk or going for a swim will have much the same

affect.

2) Watch your diet. If you eat poorly, you stand a better chance of being

stressed. However, with a healthy diet, your body feels better, as does your

mind, so you are able to handle the stresses of life that inevitably come

along.

3) Stay away from drugs, cigarettes and alcohol as much as possible. Many

people think that alcohol and drugs take the stress away, but the truth of

the matter is, they only mask the stress. Cigarettes elevate your blood

pressure, which causes stress on your body. Without these vices, you can

find healthier alternatives to managing your stress.

4) Get enough sleep. If you're tired all of the time, you have the potential for

feeling stressed from irritability. Most people need at least 8 hours of sleep

at night to feel refreshed. If you aren't able to get a full night's sleep, try

taking a short nap during the day. Being tired puts stress on your body and

when you don't feel well, you are more likely to be stressed.

5) Relax. By doing something that relaxes you, you will feel the stress melt

away. Happy people rarely feel stress. Watch your favourite film, write, read

a book, or go dancing. Yoga is great for relaxing, too. Whatever it is that

relaxes you, take time to do it, even for a short time, each day.

6) Find a hobby. Try to find something you like to do; something that doesn't

feel like work. A hobby will also relax you, which will take much of your

stress away. If there is something you love to do, that doesn't feel like you

have to “work” at it, find time to do it.

7) Talk to someone. Find someone whom you can trust and is a good listener.

It doesn't matter who it is. Sometimes we all just need to vent and venting

relieves stress. If there isn't anyone you can talk to, vent on paper. Once you

have released it, throw it away and let it go. This same rule applies to

talking it out. Once you have let it out, let it go. You'll be surprised at how

much better you feel once you have let it out.

It's not easy to manage stress, but it is possible. You only need try. Try these
