The idea of building a large statue atop Corcovado was first suggested in the mid-1850s,

 Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot.

short tons) the statue has also become a cultural icon of Rio de

is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of concrete and stone,

Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in 72 AD and it was completed in 80 AD under his successor and heir Titus

The Colosseum could hold, it is estimated, between 50,000 -80,000 spectators, having an average audience of some 65,000

it was used for gladiatorial contests , animal hunts & Drams.

Although in the 21st century it stays partially ruined because of damage caused by devastating earthquakes and stone-robbers,

the Colosseum is an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome. It is one of Rome's most popular tourist attractions

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, wood, and other materials.

Machu Picchu was built around 1450,Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca site located

2,430 metres (7,970 ft) above sea level.It is located in the Cusco Region,peru.It is situated on a mountain ridge above the 

Sacred Valley which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cuzco and through which the Urubamba River flows.

Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls. Its three primary structures are the Inti Watana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows.

Petra is a historical and archaeological city in the southern Jordanian governorate ofMa'an that is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system,

Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved.

 UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage". Petra was named amongst the New7Wonders of the World in 2007.

The Taj Mahal (India)

The taj mahal is a white marble mausoleum located on the southern bank of the Yamuna River in the Indian city of Agra.

It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan  to house the tomb of his favorite wife of three, Mumtaz Mahal

 It is one of the world’s most celebrated structures and a symbol of India’s rich history.

 Shah Jahan presented Maharajah Jai Singh with a large palace in the center of Agra in exchange for the land.

It is believed over 1,000 elephants were used to transport building materials. The translucent white marble was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan, the jasper from Punjab, jade and crystal from China.

 In all, twenty eight types of precious and semi-precious stones were inlaid into the white marble.
