– Vision Entertainment Group
Families are also using the child’s ini9als, or a custom mo9f, to create a mitzvah logo, which is used throughout the event from the invita9ons and centerpieces to the cake and party favors.

Bat & bar mitzvah décor is becoming more similar to wedding décor, with clean and elegant design. Teens are infusing their style into everything from the invitations to the food and décor. The “New Generation B’nai Mitzvah” is all about trying new things. Here are some exciting décor trends to try!
MITZVAHDécor
Ligh9ng is being used to take décor from preky to STUNNING. LED-‐lit vases and glowing centerpieces are great op9ons, along with light-‐up tables, furniture and dance floors. -‐The Sands at Atlan9c Beach
A hot trend is Illuminated “glow” bars, using the teen’s photo, colors and logo. – Vision Entertainment Group
B’nai mitzvahs today are all about the unexpected personal touch. Logos are becoming standard as teens enjoy crea9ng a unique symbol or graphic to represent their style and can be featured throughout their party details, such as invita9ons, centerpieces, cake, party favors, and GOBO ligh9ng..
The Recep9on Lounge is a trend that’s gepng more and more prevalent. Families are ren9ng couches and okomans in their signature colors, or all white, to create an in9mate “chill out” area.

Families are thinking ahead about their event photos, and using fun props and crea9ve backdrops to spice things up. Backdrops are being used to add personality and style to the photo booth and dessert table, while showcasing their child’s theme or color paleke. Anything goes for fun backdrops, including pinwheels, garlands, string lights and paper cranes.
A trend we’re loving is ceiling décor. Hanging flowers, crystals, parasols and lanterns are popular, while suspended glass orbs filled with flowers or themed details such as candy are dangling from centerpieces, trees and ceilings everywhere!
Covered centerpieces are great because of their versa9lity. Domed plakers, terrariums, and apothecary jars can be filled with flowers, sweets and desserts, or small decora9ve objects for a beau9ful and crea9ve themed centerpiece.
Many families are also using vases of different shapes and sizes rather than one large centerpiece.
Many teens now have pre-‐event photo shoots in unique or fun loca9ons. The photos are being incorporated into the party décor, such as sign-‐in books, wall hangings, photo slideshows and centerpieces.

Invitations set the tone for your child’s b’nai mitzvah. They’re your guests’ first peek into the type of event they’ll be attending. Teens can take it as an opportunity to reflect their personality and style, and showcase their overall theme.
Teens are becoming more involved and very sophisticated when it comes to their choices. - Michael Zac Design Group
The trend is all about color. Bar and Bat Mitzvahs are gepng bold with dynamic color combina9ons, many with black. What's on the fashion runway inspires invita9on design, with color blocking and green very much a trend. -‐ Michael Zac Design Group
Many invita9ons incorporate a religious aspect of the bar or bat mitzvah, such as the Star of David or tallit. If the b’nai mitzvah has a theme, try to incorporate i t in a smal l manner. It shouldn’t necessarily overpower the invita9on and the event.

The laser cut technique con9nues to be a popular choice for invita9ons because it adds such drama9c, luxurious effect. It gives a true wow factor when guests open it up, which is always what we strive for. -‐ Ceci New York
The technology of laser cut allows us to design extremely delicate, intricate pakerns into many parts of the suite -‐ whether it's a sleeve, a bellyband or part of the invita9on itself. From ikat, floral, paisleys, gates, even the skyline of New York, it is a medium that allows for the ul9mate in ar9s9c freedom and beauty. Perfect for the family seeking a unique, custom design.

It’s no longer just about the invita9on. Famil ies are c h o o s i n g u n i q u e a n d modern fonts to match their theme. More thought is going into envelope liners, address labels, and stamps to make the invita9on truly stand out. Designs are making their way to the outside of the envelope

Meaningful

Experts, Cheryl Friedenberg and Valerie Franklin, from The Mitzvah Bowl website, share their tips and advice. “The ‘M’ and the ‘P’ in ‘Mitzvah Projects’ should stand for ‘Meaningful’ and ‘Personal’.”
MITZVAHProjects
The mitzvah project should be something that goes beyond raising money. Teens should take it to the next level. For example, talk to the Execu9ve Director to find out the organiza9onal mission, see where the money is going, and make actual deliveries.
The en9re family is finding ways to get involved, making it a more meaningful experience, and bringing the family closer together.

The teen should find a project that makes them excited and passionate. It should be something that aligns with his or her interests. Examples include collec9ng dance shoes for inner city dance studios or volunteering at therapeu9c horseback riding program. The project should con9nue throughout the year through high school. If they are excited, it will last a lot longer!

Many families take their child’s b’nai mitzvah as an opportunity to benefit society. Through charitable actions and eco-friendly options, you can make a difference.A typical bat/bar mitzvah produces between 400-600 lbs of garbage! - GreenBrideGuide.com
As part of, or in addi9on to, the mitzvah project, many families choose to donate to a charity that is meaningful to them.
A Tzedakah or Green Theme is becoming more popular, where everything from the centerpieces and décor to the favors benefit the community in some way.
Some venues also give back to the community. The Prince George Ballroom donates 100% of its net revenue to NYC outreach programs to help the homeless and others in need. 230 Fi-h provides funding to medical ins9tu9ons such as Memorial Sloan-‐Kekering, New York-‐Presbyterian and Lenox Hill.
A bat or bar mitzvah is a perfect opportunity to give back to those less fortunate. A great way to give back is by dona9ng your le-over food to local food banks!
