Pebbles in the Pond | Fr. Raymond Vicente Decipeda, MMHC | June 5, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

This time last year, we were still in the thick of the pandemic, so many people were getting sick, many of those we know and those we love were getting gravely infected and some died because of covid or the complications of this virus. It was a grave time of uncertainty. With many adults now vaccinated and the

tiers that barred people from receiving the vaccine have all been lifted, last memorial day weekend was our closest expe-rience to the normal that we knew. We should still be extremely cautious because of the new variants of the virus that are mutating. It is a blessing that we are still here. Everyday is a blessing from God. As we slowly move back to our normal celebrations in the Church and as our parish life slowly gets back to the new “normal”, here are some items we will be expecting:

1.. ON GOING PROJECTS- We are at present doing our AC Project beginning with Phase 2 (Two Units on the north and south side of the roof closer to the parking area). We are replacing the two old 30 ton AC units and scaling them down to two packaged 10 ton AC units with built in UV light virus/bacteria filter that are more efficient. Once the contract of AC Phase 1 is signed, we will immediately start the removal of the two old 4 ton AC Units near Pioneer Boulevard and up-grade to 6 units of 5 tons package AC units. All these units will have UV light filter/purifier. Once completed, we will have a brand new AC System that will also keep the air inside the church filtered and purified. Hopefully, these units will serve the Church for the next 30-40 years.

2. FENCE & SECURITY GATE PROJECT with Parking Re-striping- We are only waiting for the contracts to be signed, after which, we will immediately start these projects that we have been announcing for some time now.

3. WALL OF REMEMBRANCE- Many people that we know passed away during the time of the pandemic. I would like us to remember them for the coming months of this year 2021. If you have a loved one who passed away during the time of covid, please help us remember them in our prayers. Please send us a solo CLEAR picture of your loved one that we can add to the WALL of REMEMBRANCE. This will be placed near the Shrine of our Lady of Perpetual Help. The size should be 4 inches by 5 inches. Please put the full name of the deceased at the back. Please put, as well, the full name of the contact person and phone number so we can properly return the picture when we need to bring down the display.

4. CHAPEL OF MERCY NOW OPEN- The Adoration Chapel that we so love to go to when we need a place to pray is open once again. As with all our other safety protocols, we will need to maintain safe social distance, wear masks, sani-tize your hands and only 50% capacity at this time. Only a maximum of 15 people is allowed inside.

5. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL- In order to help administer the parish, every pastor is strongly encouraged to form a PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL. The members of this council meet on a regular basis with the Pastor in order to discuss the parish life- concerns and challenges, initiatives and direction of the parish at large. The members assist the pastor in the administration of the parish through their counsel. The Parish Pastoral Council assists the pastor in these fields: (WESTY) I. Worship (Worship, Liturgy, Prayer Life, Devotions). II. Education ( Evangelization, Religious Education, On Going Faith Formation). III. Service ( Social Justice, Outreach Ministries, Pro-Life Ministry). IV. Temporalities ( Steward-ship, Facilities, Financial Resources, Parish Registry). V. Youth (Youth Ministry, Vocation Promotion, Safeguard the Chil-dren). Next week, we will be printing a form for you to nominate a parishioner whom you think will have the capacity to assist the Pastor through his/her counsel in these different fields. The council will be comprised of 10 members.

6. RAFFLE TICKETS- We are selling raffle tickets for our coming FIESTA 2021. Please support our fund raising efforts. All the profit for this year’s FIESTA will go to the expansion and renovation of our restrooms. We all use these facilities and they are in serious need of repair. Our goal is for every working/earning individual in the parish to buy ONE booklet per month or a total of 3 BOOKLETS for this year.

Let us continue to pray for each other especially those who are seriously affected by the pandemic. Many of our parish-ioners are still feeling isolated since the beginning of the lockdown last year. Please reach out to your neighbor. Find a way to bring help to them. For many of them, the only face of Jesus that they will see will be your face.
