Zen Buddhism

•  Most Samurai followed Zen Buddhism, which focuses on effort and discipline.

The Bushido Code

•  “Bushido” means the way of the warrior. A Samurai is loyal to their Daimyo or Shogun until death. If they failed, they would perform “seppuku” –suicide.
