This past October, A Country Called Syria was honoredto be a community partner with the Arab Film Festival- Los Angeles (AFFLA), in presenting a compelling andextremely moving film called "After Spring." This filmsheds light on the life of Syrian refugee families afterentering the Zaatari Refugee Camps in Jordan. Onceagain, we've partnered with the AFFLA and arehonored to be sharing this powerful film with thecommunity.
AFTER SPRING - Film Synopsis: With the Syrianconflict now in its sixth year, millions of peoplecontinue to be displaced. AFTER SPRING, executiveproduced by Jon Stewart, is the story of what happensnext. By following two refugee families in transitionand aid workers fighting to keep the camp running,viewers will experience what it is like to live in Zaatari,the largest camp for Syrian refugees. With no end insight for the conflict or this refugee crisis, everyonemust decide if they can rebuild their lives in a placethat was never meant to be permanent. However, eventhough it sometimes feels like there is no hope, thiscommunity’s unbelievable resilience and optimismradiates off screen, creating a hopeful and stunningdocumentary.
