Dear Reader:

And will make him a messenger unto the Children of Israel, saying: “Lo! I come to you with a sign from your Lord. Lo! I fashion for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and I breathe into it and it is a bird, by Allah's leave. I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I raise the dead, by Allah's leave. And I announce unto you what ye eat and what ye store up in your houses. Lo! Herein is a portent for you, if ye are to be believers.”Also in (Surah Al-Maeda 5:110) When Allah said: O Jesus, son of Mary! Remember My favour to you and to your mother; how I strengthened you with the holy Spirit, so that you spoke to mankind in the cradle as in maturity; and how I taught you the Scripture and Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and how you shaped of clay as it were the likeness of a bird by My permission, and blew upon it and it was a bird by My permission, and you healed him who was born blind and the leper by My permission; and how you raised the dead by My permission; and how I restrained the Children of Israel from harming you when you came unto them with clear proofs, and those of them who disbelieved exclaimed: This is naught else than evident magic;

Our plea with you is to stand in front of God to give you sight as he did to Ubayd Allah, now pray to him and say:“Beloved Father, you are the greatest lord, kindest father, I come to you now, touch my heart now, to create for me sight and enlightenment, as I am born as blind, the devil has blinded my mind.I have no one but you.I come to you now. I give you my heart in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in your life. Amen.”

Saint Ubayd Allah Ibn Jahsh Ibn Riyab Al-Asadi

In the fifth year after Muhammad first claimed to be a prophet of God (AD 616), he went out with 38 men and 18 women to for the send Hijra (emigration) to Ethiopia to avoid persecution from the Quraysh. One of those men was Ubayd Allah b. Jahsh. He is the cousin of Muhammad and his wife is Umm Habibah bent Aby Sofian. Also he is the brother of Zainab bint Jahsh who became the wife of the prophet Mohammed after divorcing her first husband Zaid b. Harith under the pretext of abolishing of the adoption system, meaning that Mohammed married both the wife and sister of Ubayd Allah. Ubayd Allah is also the brother of the Sahabi (companion of Mohammed) Abd Allah b. Jahsh, who was the first to attack the Quraysh caravans during the sacred months, where in order to allow fighting Mohammed gave the Quranic revelation in (Surah Al-Baqara 2:217) “They question thee (O Muhammad) with regard to warfare in the sacred month. Say: Warfare therein is a great (transgression) ..”. So Ubayd Allah is the first apostate of Islam and the first evangelist to witness to Muslims regarding the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ at the beginning of Islam

Ubayd-Allah a rebel against the pagan worship of Quraysh

Sirat Ibn Ishaq describes Ubayd Allah as one of four who refused the pagan worship of Quraysh. Those four agreed to worship but one God. Their names are Waraqah b. Nawfal, Uthman b. Huwarith, Zayd b. Amr and Ubayd Allah. Those were also called monotheistic hanifs.According to Ibn Ishaq, Waraqah ibn Nawfal settled in his faith as Christian following the books of the people of that faith, until he became one of the scholars of the people of the book.Ibn Ishaq also mentions about Ubayd Allah that he went on searching until Islam came. Then, he migrated with the Muslims to Abyssinia, taking with him his wife who was a Muslim. Umm Habiba bint Abu Sufyan. When he arrived there he adopted Christianity, departed from Islam, and died a Christian in Abyssinia.

So when Ubayd Allah converted to Christianity in Ethopia, his wife Umm Habibah refused to do the same and decided to leave him and migrated back to Madina, and then the prophet Mohammed decided to take her as his wife.

About that we find in Ibn Ishaq the following:Muhammad b. Ja`far b. Al-Zubayr told me that when he had become a Christian ̀ Ubaydullah as he passed the prophet's companions who were there used to say: ‘We see clearly, but your eyes are only half open,’ i.e. ‘We see, but you are only trying to see and cannot see yet.’ He used the word sa'sa' because when a puppy tries to open his eyes to see, it only half sees. The other faqqaha means to open the eyes. After his death the Apostle married his widow Umm Habiba. (Ibn Ishaq, The Life of Muhammad, tr. Guillaume, 1967, p. 99)We see here that the main reason for Ubyad Allah’s conversion to Christianity was that the Lord revealed himself to him and had indeed opened his eyes to the truth to see clearly that Jesus Christ is the Risen lord and he is only way to be with God. So as we clearly see not only has his eyes opened to the truth but he became the first known Christian believer who witnessed to Muslims and not any Muslims but the companions of the prophet himself

Saint Ubayd Allah ibn Jahsh carried the good news of Salvation to his Muslim companions at the very beginning of Islam, saying “‘We see, but you are only trying to see and cannot see yet.” We plead with you today to accept his invitation to stand in front of the only One who can open your vision and sight, the one that he said concerning himself in Luke 4:18-19:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

He is Jesus Christ whom the Author of the Quran said in (Surah Al-E-Imran 3:49)
