Some of these decisions can be better made in person, and your photographer is one of those people you should meet before you book. You can't make a decision without meeting them and seeing what they have to offer (both work wise and personality).

They better match or EXCEED your own creativity:They better match or EXCEED your own creativity:You're going to spend the next few months designing, decorating and planning your wedding at all different angles, you need to be sure that your photographer can match your creativity and capture your day the way you imagine it and have spent many hours putting together.

When you tell them about ideas you have for your day do they sound irritated? Are they willing to listen to you? Do you feel comfortable with them? The more comfortable you are with your photographer the better your photos! Having someone who can be fun, but still courteous and professional is invalu-able, the only thing worse than not getting along with your photographer is having bad photos of your day.

Regret:Quite possibly the biggest thing overlooked. You don't Quite possibly the biggest thing overlooked. You don't regret your images until AFTER you've received them, so if your photographer doesn't have a portfolio you love and isn't willing to share an entire wedding gallery from a previous wedding you may just be walking towards the path of regret.

Posed vs candid:The oldest question there is.... will you pose me? We The oldest question there is.... will you pose me? We

Nothing to hide, everything to show:Quite possibly one of the biggest things you can do is ask your photographer to view an Quite possibly one of the biggest things you can do is ask your photographer to view an entire wedding gallery from one of their past weddings. While this may seem strange, every vendor, baker, florist or jeweler always shows off their best work in their front window. And the buck doesn't stop with photographers, we all display our best work, showing off an entire wedding shouldn't be something to be ashamed of if there's more to show behind the scenes then what you see on their website.

Documenting the things I don't see:This will set apart your photos from most, can your photographer capture the things you This will set apart your photos from most, can your photographer capture the things you never knew happened? When you look through your images will you find your niece sleep-ing on your sister in the church pew behind you, your mom sticking your dad with his bouton-niere, your grandma and grandpa holding hands while watching the vows? These are all things that are part of your days story that all can make remembering your wedding so much more special.

Are they able to work in poor lighting?Part of planning should not be asking your photographer if there's enough light during the reception for them, your photographer should be skilled when it comes to lighting. A dark candlelit room should not mean that you get less than quality (or better yet creative) work because of the decor you've chosen.
