SCREENING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

We are looking for two volunteers to join our Volunteer Screening Committee. As COVID continues to subside (we hope and pray) we are looking forward to restarting many ministries at St.

Francis, and to beginning some new initiatives! So we will be inviting everyone in our parish to get involved and volunteer for a ministry! As

many of you know, volunteering at the church comes with a screening process, particularly for those working with children or vulnerable persons. This process involves interviews, reference checks and police record checks, and we need a team of parishioners to run this process. We are very blessed to have Bryan Mahn leading the team, but he needs two more committee members to help him. The time commitment for this ministry is roughly four to ten hours per month, and you would mostly be helping conduct interviews and calling references for parishioners of St. Francis. Because you would be handling confidential information you yourself would need to be fully screened. If you are organized, responsible and good at interacting with people one on one, please consider helping with this

ministry. Without our screening committee all the other ministries in the parish cannot function! If you are interested please contact the

parish office and we will give you the full ministry description and answer any questions you have. [email protected] or 519-745-7301

The Board is seeking 1 external community representative with a high level of financial and business knowledge to serve on their Audit Committee. You can see the full description of this position and application information by clicking here. Thank you for considering serving our school board in this way.

RECONCILIATION AND HEALING In response to the continuing suffering of our Indigenous brothers and sisters, and the desire of Catholics to learn, act and heal together, the Diocese of Hamilton has put together a very thorough section on their website to help us make progress on this difficult journey. We invite you to visit the website by clicking these links:

EXPRESSIONS OF APOLOGY (read the apologies made by the Catholic church over the years)

KW Ecumenical Services with Taizé Songs continues to meet on the fourth Sunday of each month, although right now they meet online through facebook. These candlelit prayer services create quiet spaces to listen to God, simple, repetitive music to facilitate worship, an opportunity to pray at the Cross and to build unity among Christians from various traditions. You can join them on their facebook page and learn more about Taizé by clicking here. You can also pray along with their most recent service by watching the video on youtube, click here for that link. The Ordination of Fr. Patrick Ohl and Fr. Peter Robinson to the priesthood took place at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King on June 26, 2021. To see pictures from the special day click here, to watch a video of the Mass click the picture below. May their ministry be blessed!
