    With HMI Embedded and HMI Advanced a range of keyand softkey assignments is available with identicalfunctions in all operating areas and menus (operatingprinciple).

    Area changeover:

    Switch back from anymenu to the main menu ofyour control.

    Softkeys:

    Horizontal softkeys:These keys subdivide eachoperating area into furthermenu levels. Each horizontalmenu item has a vertical

    menu bar/softkeyassignment.

    Vertical softkeys:Assigned with functions forthe currently selectedhorizontal softkeys.

    Select directory/file:Position the cursor on thedesired directory/file.

    Open/close directory:Open or close the selecteddirectory.

    Close directory:Close selected diectory.

    Open file:Open the desired file, e.g. ifyou want to edit the file in theASCII editor (in this case theeditor is openedautomatically).

    Select file (HMI Advanced):Select the desired file.

    Select several files (HMIAdvanced):Hold down the "Shift" and"Cursor Down" keys.

    option field.

    2. Input fields:Switch to input mode.

    Enter the value or word (e.g.file name, type, etc.) on thenumeric keypad.

    You automatically switch toinput mode if you first

    position the cursor on theinput field.

    Always confirm your inputwith the "Input" key. Thevalue is accepted.

    2.5 Scratching method/determine zero offset

    ScratchingActive level, active zero offsetand active tool are selected.

    Select axis which shall betraversed, with the cursor.

    X +Traverse axis to theworkpiece, enter desired setposition and confirm with"Input". The offset iscalculated.

    OK

    With "OK" all the values are

    entered into the selected zerooffset.

    Please note:The calculation of the offset always refers to the currentworkpiece coordinate system (WCS).

    In order to take account ofthe tool geometry, positionthe cursor in the column"Geometry + wear" on theaxis which shall be traversedand select with "Toggle" key,how the tool offset shall becalculated.

    Select "Execution fromexternal source" menu.

    Position the cursor on thedesired file in the directorytree.

    Cycle Start

    Start execution via RS-232.

    Executed blocks appear inthe current block window.

    Alternatively, it is possible to start execution in the"Services" operating area.You can change the transfer parameters in the "Services"operating area. The transfer is recorded in the error log.

    Please note:When you activate "Load", the program is automaticallydeleted from the hard disk. When you activate "Unload", theprogram is automatically cleared from the NC memory.
