In his presentation entitled: “FInES Research Roadmap 2025 Knowledge Café Summary”, Mr. Michele Missikoff presented the objectives of the FInES RR Knowledge Café. He discussed the dimensions (Knowledge, Functional, Engineering), Scince Base and Future Technologies of the FInES.

2. Objectives of the FInES RR Knowledge Caf

  • Discuss on the key issues of the first draft of FInES Research Roadmap

  • Two parallel groups / two sessions
  • At the coffee break the two groups switch
  • Moderators and rapporteurs dont move

3. 3. The Future Internet-based Enterprise Systems

  • This theCore Space , organised in three dimensions:
  • 1. Knowledge Dimension , since before doing it is necessary to know,
  • 2. Functional Dimension , to see what will be the main functions of a FInES,
  • 3. Engineering Dimensioninvestigate new development techniques, with a specific focus on software applications.
  • Each dimension will be articulated with itsResearch Challenges

4. 3.1 The Knowledge Dimension

  • RC1. Unified Digital Enterprise
  • full digital image of the enterprise ( E nterpriseA rchitectureF wk), with conceptual and factual (data) knowledge, behavioural and structural aspects, at various levels of details

  • to connect and integrate actual knowledge/ data,in/outside of the enterprise (Web of Knowledge)

  • with sections fully specified and sections characterised by non deterministic behaviour

7. The Science Base of FInES

  • Much of the above Research Challenges need rigorous,well-founded approaches
  • In the future FInES researches it is highly advisable to include activities related to Science Base

    • Enterprise Engineering

  • Unified Digital Enterprisemakes the mistake of equating the tool with the thing itself

  • 'knowledge ' cannot be assigned to 'objects'. Knowledge is a trulyhumanthing; if you take away humans, there is no such thing as 'knowledge
  • The section should be named "Futuresocially-enrichedknowledge Technologies
  • The statement "the role ofhumansin the creation of knowledge assets will progressively turnmarginal " is in my view utterly false
  • Complex-systemengineering is less dependent ontechnologythan traditional systems engineering
