MUSIC MINISTRY
Greetings Fellow Parishioners,
Great news! Some of the choirs at our Parish are looking
for new singers and musicians to join their group. This is
a chance for you to join a wonderful group of people who
enjoy singing and making music as much as you do, to
praise the Lord and help lead the congregation in song. If
you still need a few more reasons to join:
1) You always have a great, reserved seat for Christmas
and Easter
2) Looks good on your resume
3) As St. Augustine once said, "To sing is to pray twice".
Each one of our Parish’s five choirs has its own character
and musical style. For more information, please go to the

or speak to a choir director after Mass.
We look forward to hearing from you and God bless! CONSOLATION & HOPE MINISTRY
Our mission is to provide bereaved parishioners and their
families with hope. Our members are called to participate
in the Ministry, to care for the dying and to comfort all
who mourn. The goal of the parish ministry is that no
member of the faith community grieves alone. The
compassion of a loving God should be experienced by all
who lose a loved one through concern and caring of the
parish members and consolation during the period of
mourning following the loss of a loved one. Our ministry
is looking for new members to help fulfill our mission.
We are particularly interested in members who would be
available to assist during Funeral Masses. If you are
interested, please provide the parish office with your
contact information. We will have an information session
in the near future.
Student Volunteer Hours
The Hospitality Ministry offers a great opportunity for
students to earn their necessary volunteer hours. Students
will earn credit by assisting at Weekend Masses.
If you are interested, please pick up a copy of Volunteer
Application Form, General Risk Ministry Position for
Youth under 18 years of Age, form the Parish Office.
Complete the form and return to the office. You will then
be contacted for a brief interview and training session. If you have any questions talk to a Hospitality Minister or
leave you contact information with the office.

Life Chain is an easy way to get involved in pro-life. Show
up for one hour, stand on the side walk with others who are
not ashamed to be a public witness, and pray for an end to
abortion and for those affected by it. St. Francis de Sales
Parish will be part of this Life Chain on Sunday, October
6th from 2:00 - 3:00PM More details to follow.

The registration packages were given to all the
students by their teachers in each of our 6 Parish
schools (for children in grades 2 and 7.)
Packages for First Reconciliation, First Communion
and Confirmation are now available for pick up from
the parish office for:
1. Students attending a public/private school or a
Catholic school outside of our parish boundary.
2. Students attending one of our 6 Parish schools
who are in grades 3-6, for First Reconciliation
and First Communion and grade 8 for
Confirmation.
Parents will need to bring the completed registration
package (and Baptism package for those not Baptized or
Baptized in another faith) to one of the registration
meetings listed below in order to register their child for
the sacrament preparation program for the 2019-2020
year.
Confirmation Registration Meetings
Monday September 23rd at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday September 28th at 10:00 a.m.
First Communion Registration Meetings
Thursday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday October 5th at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, September 18th
Mass begins at 11:30am, followed by
lunch at 12 noon.
