A tragic day

On the morning of September 11, 2001 four airplanes were hijacked by 19 al-Qaeda

terrorists.

The flights were taking off from Boston, Newark, and Washington DC.

They chose those flights because they would be heavily fueled.

Two of those planes were headed to The World Trade Center in NYC, another one was headed

to the pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.The forth was thought to have been headed to

The White House or the Capital in Washington, DC

5 hijackers crashed American Airlines flight 11 into The North Tower at 8:46 am.

Then at 9:03 am five other hijackers crashed United Airlines flight 175 into

the south tower.

The south tower collapsed at: 9:59 after burning for 56 minutes due to

United Airlines flight 175 crashing into it

The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 am after burning for 102

minutes due to American Airlines flight 11

Then at 9:37 five more hijackers crashed American Airlines flight 77

in to the Pentagon

Then four hijackers tried to take control of United Airlines flight 93 but the passengers took back over

the plane and it crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania

2,998 people died because of 9/11/01 excluding the 19 hijackers

Over 6,291 were injured because of 9/11/01
