PRECISION SEED DRILLS

1. For a light-weight seeding unit: REAR GAUGE This light solution can be used with small tractors to seed in any type of prepared soil. Working depth is controlled by the rear wheels.

3. For seeding under any conditions: THE OPENING DISC UNITFor seeding precision under mixed conditions and in the presence of plant debris, seed drop height is as close as possible to the soil to provide uniform positioning between seeds and uniform depth. A real coulter for good seed positioning with seeds inserted between two discs forming a furrow, which helps hold the seed in place.

2. For controlled depth: SWINGING ARM The rear roller and the front wheel follow unevenness in the ground perfectly, with two points of contact with the soil; this system provides incomparable uniformity of depth, particularly for seeding small seeds in well-prepared soil.

The PLANTER 3 was designed for seed by seed distribution with accurate

and uniform spacing along the row. The seed drill distribution is suitable

for plants with inter-row spacing of more than 25 cm, such as onions,

rape, peas, sunfl owers, soy, maize, etc.

All the seeding units are characterised by distribution inside an aluminium casing, for long life.1. The grip on the seed by the stainless steel distribution disc

is provided by a fl ow of low-pressure air. The seed is sucked in by the low pressure and held against every perforation on the disc.

2. The selection system includes a disc which is appropriate to every crop and a selector which cannot become misadjusted.

Easy maintenance The removable metering unit is easily and rapidly removed allowing complete emptying of the hopper.

Fluted seed metering units

Application rate is provided by sepa-rate fl uted metering units with conti-nuous adjustment over a range of 50 to 700 kg/ha (depending on density). The polyurethane groove eliminates any risk of abrasion of the fertilizer.

Different sizes of fertilizer hoppers are available as options for the various models. The microgranulators on the PLANTER 3 seed drill can place microgranulate in several places:

The product (such as insecticide) is incorporated in the shoe with the seed (some anti-slug products and certain fertilizers can also be incorporated at this point).

The product is deposited along the seed line (anti-slug diffuser type).

No risk of bottle necks Pneumatic transport ensures a regular supply of microgranules with no risk of clogging in the tubes no matter how many rows the seed drill has.

Easy to adjust Adjustment is made by moving an index and two interchangeable gearwheels, gives 6 continuous ranges for insecticide and anti-slug treatment and 4 ranges of continuous application rate for weed killer.

Practical to load and empty

A single hopper supplies up to 9 rows. Application rate is accurate and reliable no matter what type of microgranulate is used, because it uses fl uted metering units.

Developed in association with users, the KMS 412 operating menu is easy to understand and to use. It helps users with everything, even machine adjustment.

PLANTER 3 seed drills are available with different versions of electronic control box. From simply controlling the passage of the seed into the seeding units to counting the population seeded per hectare, KUHN has a range of reliable, open-ended control boxes.

Saving seed with row TRAMLINING: Tramlining works with the KMD 112 disengagement box, the KMS 412 monitoring unit and a QUANTRON S or HECTOR 3000* control box. With these monitoring units you can see that tramlining is taking place correctly in the fi eld. The tramlining system works with a seed drill equipped with disengagement mechanisms mounted either on every row or on just a few rows. COUPLING KMD 112 + KMS 208

KMS 112 (box with 8 switches) with the KMS 208 gives a status display for each row: the led is green if the row is engaged and red if the row is disengaged. Furthermore, the KMS 208 provides warning of any anomalies which occur during disengagement, e.g. a sudden fl ow of seeds even when the row is disengaged. KUHN Exclusive.

COUPLING KMD 112 + KMS 412

The KMS 112 (box with 12 switches) with the KMS 412 allows to disengage up to 12 rows. The activity status for each unit will be shown by the KMS 412, notably via a cross for each disengaged unit. The seed controller will also give warning of any anomaly linked to disengagement.Available for seed drills with up to 12 disengageable rows.
