INTRODUCTION
Collaboration in education using technology benefits teachers, students and communities as a whole. This journal was a case study around virtual mentoring. From this case study teachers were able to identify exact areas of improvement in writing for their students. In addition teachers discovered great writing abilities students had by using virtual mentoring.
REFLECTION I chose this journal because it is a great
example of how collaborating with other schools in a different location can be successful. Teachers were able to zero in on student problem areas using technology instead of making the assumption where the student needed help.

Telementoring as a Collaborative Agentfor Change
This article is from the ERIC database regarding collaboration in electronic learning communities. The articles display how the online community is tied to collaborating. “Thru collaboration according to Palloff and Pratt, (2005) critical thinking, promotion of initiative, and creative thinking,” are some of the accomplishments that come from collaborating.
REFELECTION This article is a good supporting
document for any teacher who wants to start using technology in the classroom and possibly collaborate with other student teachers outside their immediate area.

This journal is from the ERIC database and gives a broad view of teaching and learning online. This journal puts in perspective that even though collaboration is great, there needs to be control concepts in place so one can continue to build on the overall collaborative experience.
REFLECTION This journal gives a broad view of
collaboration regarding education. It forced me to think about the bad
and good potentials of using technology in education; additionally, armed me with information to analyze.

Conclusion
As one can see, collaborating in education online is critical in today’s society. There are many resources and tools that allow you to interact within your community along with other communities. The internet has enabled students to have virtual mentors in various cities, become educated in different countries, and all the while within a collaborative community.
