when to replace an ingredient cartridgeReplacing ingredient cartridges starts with knowing when a cartridge is empty or unavailable.

The example above shows the cherry ingredient cartridge is empty, as a result cherry vanilla Hi-C® is grayed out and cherry Hi-C® shows unavailable when the user touches the cherry Hi-C® icon.

To view the amount of ingredient remaining within each cartridge, reference the level indicator next to the brand flavor.

Confirm the cartridge has been inserted into the correct slot and press “PRIME” on the cartridge replacement screen.

A new screen listing all brands/secondary flavors that require priming will appear. Press “Auto Prime”. REMINDER: The prime process lasts approximately 5-10 seconds depending on cartridge size, i.e., single or double. The process should NEVER be interrupted to dispense a drink.

Press “OK” once priming is complete.

NOTE: Only press the Prime button ONCE! Pressing it more than once will needlessly repeat the Prime.

Priming an ingredient cartridge simply removes any trapped air in the line and ensures guests receive a consistent, quality beverage. After replacing an empty cartridge follow the on-screen messages outlined below:

replacing an ingredient cartridgeRemove cartridge and tray from dispenser and separate cartridge from plastic tray and recycle the outer paperboard box.

Remove the empty ingredient cartridge from the plastic tray.

Clean tray with Kay-5 sanitizer or detergent cleanser and wipe QPM (Quad Pump Module) probe that inserts into cartridge with Kay-5 until cloth comes away clean.

Open new cartridge using perforated cartridge opening flap.

Remove (outer) white dust-cap prior to placing cartridge into plastic tray.

Always place ingredient cartridge into plastic tray and ensure plastic fitment from cartridge pouch aligns with tray.

Ensure the ingredient cartridge is aligned with the slot found on the plastic tray.

Remove safety seal prior to inserting into the dispenser.

Insert cartridge and close lower door.

Follow on-screen instructions to complete the cartridge prime process (instructions on page 6).

REMINDER Always replace any missing or damaged cartridge doors or plastic trays immediately to prevent dispensing issues. Replacement doors and plastic trays can be ordered by calling 1-800-241-COKE (2655)

• Always remove and replace ONE CARTRIDGE at a time to avoid inserting it into the incorrect slot.

• Black plastic cartridge trays should be “hand washed” only using detergent cleanser and Kay-5 sanitizer or an approved equivalent and NEVER PLACED IN A DISHWASHER. Placing trays in a dishwasher may warp the trays over time.

• Staging of ingredient cartridges and plastic trays for your most popular brands and flavors will make the cartridge change-out process more efficient and avoid delays during peak periods.

• Never stack cartridges more than six (6) high.

• Always rotate ingredient cartridges after each delivery.

• Always use your oldest ingredient cartridges on hand first, i.e. “FIRST-IN ~ FIRST-OUT”.

• Avoid placing cartridges near any heat source, standing water, or cleaning solutions.

Proper handling of the ingredient cartridges and plastic trays is extremely important to ensure proper operation of the Coca-Cola Freestyle® 9000 dispenser.

How to check/fill ice

Maintaining the proper ice level is critical to ensuring guests receive a quality beverage. For a top-mount ice maker, follow established procedures for checking ice level. If you fill the ice manually, check to ensure ice is at least 1/3 full at all times. Fill the ice bin by following the steps illustrated below:

Fill a clean bucket with ice.

Safely lift and remove ice bin lid.

Dump the ice in the ice bin and fill until full. (approximately 2" from the top – do not overfill)

Replace ice bin lid.

NOTE: Store bought or “bagged ice” SHOULD NEVER BE USED as it may seriously damage the Coca-Cola Freestyle® 9000 dispenser ice bin.

cleaning nozzle and exterior surfacesHow to properly clean the exterior surfaces

Using a clean cloth and approved sanitizer solution, wash the ice lever and allow solution to run down the drain.

Remove the cup rest. Wash and rinse the cup rest and drip tray in an approved sanitizing solution using a clean cloth. Then allow to air dry. NOTE: Follow all handwashing procedures as appropriate.

Pour water and approved sanitizer solution slowly down the drain. Ensure the drain empties properly.

Replace the cup rest in the drip tray. Check the cup rest periodically throughout the day and clean as needed.

cleaning ice chuteHow to properly clean the ice chute

Turn off power to the dispenser.

Remove the lower chute by carefully pulling on the front lip of the lower chute. It should disengage and pull forward.

Remove the upper chute by carefully pulling on the upper lip of the upper chute. It should disengage and pull forward.

Wash the upper and lower chute and ice chute body area with approved sanitizing solution (Kay-5).

Soak upper and lower chutes in Kay 5 sanitizing solution for 2 minutes.

Thoroughly wet the ice chute base that holds the lower and upper chute in place with sanitizer. Then wipe with a clean towel or cloth and be sure to clean around and under the black flap just below the base.

Reinstall the upper ice chute by pushing up and into the ice chute body until a click sound is made. When reinstalling the upper ice chute, ensure the arrow on outside of ice chute is pointing toward the dispenser and ice opening.

Reinstall the lower ice chute by pushing up and into the bottom of the upper ice chute until a click sound is made.

Turn on power to the dispenser, allow a few minutes for dispenser to complete standard start-up procedure and test to ensure the dispenser is operating properly, i. e., dispense a small amount of ice into a cup.
