    SPM Operation Status check

    > STEP 1: Log into the PCUSN

    > STEP 2: Use the command: d lp/* pcusp pm/*

    > STEP 3: Display all the spm, which are linked to an active Agprs, make sure they are enabled.

    Use the command: d pcusa/* conn/* pcmlk/*

    Standby Card Status

    > STEP 1: Log into the PCUSN

    > STEP 2: For each lp (Lp/0, Lp/1, Lp/5 (and Lp/8 for PCUSN24 aswell), check that you have either mainCardStatus andSpareCardStatus and either active or available.

    Use the command: d lp/*

    Example:

mainCardStatus and spareCardStatus either active or available.

    CP Synch-Status

    > STEP 1: Log into the PCUSN

    > STEP 2: For each PCUSN, check that the SyncStatus is synchronized (with the CPspare card) and

    syncProgress is equal to 100%.

    Use the command: d fs

    > STEP 3: Use the command: d ns/*

This command will display the network synchronization

    Expected result:NS

    adminState = unlocked

    operationalState = enabled

    usageState = busy

    clockSyncState = synchronized

activeReference = Lp/5 DS3/0 DS1/1 (AGPRS link used to get the synchronization)

standbyReference = Lp/5 DS3/0 DS1/5 (AGPRS link used to get the synchronization)

    OAM Synchronization

    Check PCUSN Time

    > STEP 1: Log into PCUSN

    > STEP 2: For each PCUSN, check that the time of the PCUSN issynchronized with the time of the

PCUOAM workstation. This is just OAM time synchronization and not atall of the system clock synchronization.

    Use the command: d time

    PCUSN CP Card Cleaning

    > STEP 1: Check to see if the disk usage is over 70%. If so, it is necessary to clean up thePCUSN CP card and delete all the useless view & software files: check the file systemdisk usage.

    Use the command: d fs

    > STEP 2: If the usage is more than 70%, delete some view and software files. List thesoftware that can be deleted.

Use the command: tidyq sw> STEP 3: Choose and clean the old module.

Use the command: remove sw av/software_module (ex:wirelessPcu_CA0335AE)

    > STEP 4: Choose and clean the old views. To list the views,

Use the command: d pr view/*

    > STEP 5: To delete the views.

    Use the command: tidyremove(view_name) pr

Passport Bus Status and testBUS Status

    > STEP 1: Check that the two PCUSN passport buses are active and enabled. If not, please contact Nortel Networks Technical Support.

Use the command: on each card, d sh ca/* bus/* and check the shelf bus with command:d sh bus/*

    Bus Test

Note, there is a loss of redundancy on the back plane during this check. Please perform

the test during maintenance window.> STEP 1: Before doing a bus test, you need to lock the bus you are going to check. The

default time of this test is 2 min. You will need to set it to 5 min.

Use the command: set sh bus/x test duration 5 and lock sh bus/x

    > STEP 2: Start the test

Use command: start sh bus/x test

    > STEP 3: Wait until the console displays:

    Shelf Bus/x Test

    Test stopped

Note: On the console you get some alarms about the bus. This is normal.

Passport Bus Status and test (continued)

    > STEP 4: Check the bus test results.

Use command: d sh bus/x test

    Results:

In the SelfTestResults, you should get a + for each card.

In the ClockSourceTestResults, you should get a + for each card.

In the BroadCastTestResults, you should get a + between each card.

In the PingTestResults, you should not have any failure.

If any one of these conditions isnt satisfied, please contact TAS.

    > STEP 5: Unlock the bus that was tested.

    Use command: Unlock sh bus/x

Repeat the same operation for bus y.

    Redundant CP/E3C (DS3)/PCUSP CardSwitchover (Continued)

    > STEP 6: Do a CP switchover.

    Use the command: switchover lp/0

    > STEP 7: After switchover, check the status of the new active CP card and wait 10 min.

    Use the command: d lp/0

    > STEP 8: Check of PCUSP redundancy

Display the status of PCUSP card , and check the current active PCUSP card.

    Use the command: d lp/1

    > STEP 9: Reset the current passive PCUSP card (e.g. if the activeCard = Shelf Card/13the passive is shelf Card/1).

Use the command: reset sh ca/1

    > STEP 10: Check that the alarm is cleared

    > STEP 11: After the reset , check the status of the PCUSP card and wait 10 min.

    > STEP 12: Switchover the PCUSP board (WARNING: SERVICE IMPACTING OPERATION).

    Use the command: switchover lp/1

Repeat the steps for the other lp (usually lp/13) of the PCUSN 24.

    > STEP 13: Check of E3C redundancy :

Display the status of E3C card , and check the current active E3C card.

    Use the command: d lp/5

    > STEP 14: Reset the current passive E3C card (e.g. if the activeCard = Shelf Card/10 the passivecard is Shelf card/5).
