A.I. safe to Muridale Jaxson. Due 3-2-2018. Certainly a sale feature female from the heart of the Leveldale herd. She is without question, one of the most powerful and massive Taylor Made daughters to date! She is not only very impressive phenotypically, but also has a curve bender calving ease and growth genotype. She produced the high selling heifer calf in last year’s Investment Sale. She sells safe to Jaxson, who has worked extremely well in limited numbers for us. He sired our syndicated, featured herd sire Reload, as well as one of our most powerful replacement females. I think this female is a home run Investment!

A.I. safe to Muridale Jaxson. Due 2-13-2018. An attractive, very func-tional Taylor Made daughter, with a great udder. She has plenty of mass and substance with a lot of eye appeal. A.I. safe to Studers Taylor Made. Due 2-10-2018. An attractively designed Prince of Jazz daughter that is fertile and functional. The youngest female of our bred group that settled on her first service and will calve right at 22 months of age. Her dam is still a solid producer at 11 years of age. I think this one will be in for the long haul and certainly earn her keep.

The youngest female of the Leveldale offering and she’s a little greener at picture time, but be sure to look this one up on sale day. She is very correct in her skeletal design with ample rib shape and muscle. Her front end is feminine and attractive, and with her extra color she is certain to attract some attention. An Iron Sights heifer was our high seller last year and this female could make it a repeat!

We are very proud to present you this set of show heifer prospects. We had a very successful AI program in 2016. Using the top bulls in the breed. The result is an outstanding set of calves. Study the pedigree and you will find that they are from cows that will produce show heifers. But, maybe more important they are bred to make profitable foundation females. They will be top producers in your cow herd for many years. All are Land of Lincoln eligible with the exception of 3 lots...33, 34 & 35.

Phillip & Linda Bowman
Dear Shorthorn Enthusiasts,
It is that time of year again where we get ready for the Leveldale INVESTMENT Sale and we could not be more thrilled with the cattle we plan to make available to you. We proudly offer these females as we delve into the next generation of Shorthorns at BSG. After dispersing the cows 4-years and older mature cows last December, our remaining females are young and offer the most cutting-edge, maternal genetics with an extra punch of power from the finest genetics we can source. Folks have come to expect our very best from our bred heifer offering, and we are happy to compare them to any offering you will find. Many sell bred to Saskvalley Banjo 268B, a stunning son of Ultra 12J who’s service was a sale feature at the Great Shorthorn Revival.
Also in our offering you will find two Power Cows from the heart of the mature cow herd whom were not in the dispersal as they were owned with a long-time friend whom many of you have met in our travels. The substance and genetic merit in these cows impress all that have seen them this summer. Their service sire has been used at BSG for a couple years, and was hand selected this summer to run in a commercial herd of several thousand cows.
Thank you for your interest in BSG. We look forward to seeing you at the sale. Stop by or call anytime.
Sincerely, J. Phillip Bowman & Family

It took a lot of arm twisting to get Phil to part with this natural daughter of the great Saskvalley Maggie 73R. 73R as many know, is the model Shorthorn cow found on your membership card and other ASA promotional items. The Maggie family isn’t just known for their stellar eye appeal, power or outcross pedigree but also their ability to inject genes of economic value and maintenance free merit in all of their progeny. This is likely the best Colonel Gus female out there for total balanced performance and genetic prediction. Folks, this a donor cow in the making, no doubt. Her future calf by the latest Select Sires feature Short-horn, Goldenrod, is destined for greatness and curve bending power traits.

Thank you once again for including Peak View Ranch in the Leveldale Investment Sale 2017. Shorthorn cattle have never been better and offered more to such a wide cross section of the cattle industry. Shorthorn cattle have so much to offer owners. Shorthorn cow herds can thrive in diverse and some very harsh environments. They have carcass quality that is truly an asset. They are a docile breed that is easy and enjoyable to handle. They can cross in a number of ways to yield success. While our children have been in 4-H it has been enjoyable to take a very functional and sound set of cows and cross them to club genetics and see in one generation that a shorthorn cow can produce fair champions. Then these same cows go back to producing performance oriented cattle for the commercial industry that are profitable and practical. This would not be true for many breeds. Val raised the reserve champion steer this year from a two year old purebred Shorthorn. This steer also won the carcass contest with a yield grade 2 prime carcass. Gabri was reserve champion previously with a purebred Shorthorn steer. Gabri also won multiple breeding championships against all breeds with Shorthorn heifers. Showing against other breeds in a competitive arena and winning is great promotion for the Shorthorn breed. Peak View Ranch has cattle that serve my passion of being productive, functional, profitable cattle in a commercial environment. You will see consignments filling both needs in the sale. The show heifers are halter broke, gentle and ready for a youth to show and enjoy. The fall calvers represent some of our best and most productive performance cattle. Like always, for us they have to be able to cross over and succeed where ever they go and are asked to perform.

As far as I am aware this is the first Sull Red Value heifer to sell at public auction. She is not a disappointment. Her dam was a successful show heifer for Val and raised a Jessie James that was reserve champi-on at our very competitive county fair all breed and crossbred market steer show. The same steer had a prime yield grade 2 carcass. These are the cross over genetics that make Shorthorns fun. Peak View Kim is a heifer that will be very competitive for a youth down the road.

This Shorthorn Plus female is typical of the great results breeding shorthorn genetics to MAB. She is so powerful and still really sound and functional, She is clean for TH, PH, and DS by pedigree. We would have loved to keep this one. Taylor Made has proven himself in the performance arena. This heifer really does succeed in so many different arenas without giving anything up.

Please study this heifers pedigree and take a look at her. She is from a MAV Charisma daughter we bought and showed very successfully from Vogels. Her two flush mates to show so far in their first outing were reserve champion open and junior show female and reserve champion open bull at our state fair. Both flush mates will be in Kansas City. Some believe we picked the wrong heifer for Gabri to show as this roan heifer is better.

This is a female that really brings a tremendous amount of rib shape, dimension, and eye appeal. Like all our cows she has never seen a grain bucket and flesh’s in a harsh semi-desert environment. She is balanced in her EPD profile. She will have a SULL Red Value calf at side by sale day. SULL Red Value was the high selling syndicated Red Reward son from Sullivan’s Sale Last year. His progeny will be in great demand as his semen use is restricted to semen share owners.

Not often are cows with this performance merit sold. Iris is a perfor-mance dam that doesn’t disappoint when she brings a calf in. We mated her to Gold Card to create a very strong EPD profile in the calf. I can’t wait to see the performance this resulting mating can yield whether it is a bull or heifer. She will have calved by sale day.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Echo Valley Meats made a 2 time appearance on ABC’s show “Shark Tank”. During his first appearance, he flew to Los Angeles, California, gave his “Pitch,” and impressed producers enough to make it to the show. Though he didn’t secure a deal, the “Sharks” loved his meat products, authenticity, and enthusiasm. In 2014 Dave received the invitation for a return visit to “Shark Tank,” where he had the rare opportunity for a second pitch to the Sharks during Season 6. This time he secured a deal with billionaire investor, Mark Cuban, making Dave the only entrepreneur in the show’s history to pitch the same business successfully the second time around.Echo Valley Meats is a growing success because of common sense judgment, hard work, leading by example, giving back to the community and above all, finding passion in life.
