A Big Fish for Max

1. Max was reading a book with his grandma. It was all about fish.

2. Max said, “I wish I had a fish to eat.”

3. “Then we will catch a big fish,” said Grandma.

4. Ruby grabbed a fishing rod and a net.

5. She said, “We can walk to the park. And Max will catch a big fish.”

6. Max patted his tummy and said, “Good. Yum, yum, yum!”

7. The three rabbits walked on the path that led to the pond.

8. “Max can fish in this pond,” said Ruby.

9. Max put his net in the water.

10. Max got a red ball in his net. But no fish bit.

11. Then Max got a black ship in his net. But no fish bit.

12. And then Max got a clam shell in his net.

13. “I want to call the fish,” said Ruby. “Then I can talk to the fish.”

14. “Fish, come and hop in the net!” The fish did not listen to Ruby.

15. Suddenly, Grandma had an idea.

16. “We can all walk to the fish shop. We can talk to the fish man.”

17. They all walked to the fish shop where they saw the fish man.

18. The fish man had lots of fresh fish in a box.

19. “We want that fat, fresh fish,” said Grandma. “It looks good.”

20. At home, Grandma put the fish in a hot pan.

21. Then Ruby put the fish on a plate.

22. Max looked at the fish and said, “Yum, yum, yum!”
