With the generous encouragement and support from the NAAC, Bengaluru, the IQAC of Yogi Vemana University organized a WEBINAR on “NAAC Assessment and Accreditation Process” on 14 th July 2020 at 10:30 AM. The Director of IQAC, Prof. M. V. Shankar welcomed all the dignitaries of NAAC and Yogi Vemana University, online participants. About 254 participants comprising University faculty, Principals and faculty from affiliated colleges. The event started with opening remarks by Prof. Munagala Surya Kalavathi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Yogi Vemana University. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor madam extended warm welcome to the participants and resource persons of the Webinar; Dr. M. S. Shyamasundar, Adviser, NAAC; Dr. Pratibha Singh, Deputy Adviser, NAAC; Dr. K. R. Vishnu Mahesh, Assistant Adviser, NAAC and Dr. D. Kamble, Assistant Adviser, NAAC. She emphasized that the criterion prescribed for NAAC accreditation is so objective, holistic and comprehensive calling for sufficient focus on each and every aspect so as to meet the current requirements and global standards in the field of higher education. She appealed to the entire faculty, non teaching staff, students and other stake holders to work collectively to showcase University’s positive aspects in order to fulfill NAAC requirements with a hope to bag a promising grade in the ensuing cycle. In a special message by Prof. D. Vijaya Raghava Prasad, Registrar of Yogi Vemana University briefed the dedicated efforts of Yogi Vemana University in improving the quality, attracting funding and attaining good NIRF and Q&S rankings. Prof. G. Sambasiva Reddy, Principal of Yogi Vemana University College spoke about the quality aspects of the University and asserted that the present webinar will be certainly helpful and guide all the stakeholders for the preparation of SSR. In the presidential remarks, Dr. M. S. Shyamasundar, Adviser, NAAC gave the key components of the revised assessment and accreditation (A & A) process. He emphasized that 70% of the A & A process relies on online mode wherein all the quantitative metrics submitted by the higher education institutes will be thoroughly verified and validated by a Data Verification and Validation (DVV) partner. Further, he elaborated that qualitative metrics will be validated by Peer Team members and student satisfaction survey (SSS) will also be conducted online by NAAC. He stressed the need of improvement of quality education in HEIs of INDIA with acceptable global standards. He emphasized that collection of data from the academic departments and administrative wings will certainly helpful in identifying Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT analysis) and provide opportunity to HEIs for improving the overall quality. He also briefed the positive initiatives taken by NAAC particularly in the present difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic. Vemana University organized a WEBINAR on “NAAC Assessment and Accreditation Process”

July 2020 at 10:30 AM. The Director of IQAC, Prof. M. V. Shankar welcomed all the

Later, Dr. K. R. Vishnu Mahesh covered the areas of Data Verification and Validation (DVV)

process, standard operating procedures for DVV in ascertaining and validating the authenticity of

submitted data and corresponding award of points to quantitative metrics. He stressed the

importance of truthful submission of all the required data backed by supportive documentary

evidence.

Dr. D. K. Kamble presented procedures involved in the assessment of student satisfaction

survey (SSS). He emphasized that the successful functioning of any HEIs is ultimately depend

on the quantum of satisfaction of student community. Further, he explained in detail about the

modalities of Peer Team visit management on-site and assessment out come.

Later, all the speakers of NAAC team responded to the Questions from the participants. The

faculty members actively participated in the interactive session and NAAC team have answered

and clarified doubts raised by the participants regarding A & A process.

Finally, Dr. P. Ramachandra Reddy, Assistant Director, IQAC of Y. V. University proposed a

vote of thanks. He expressed special gratitude to NAAC team for their informative and useful

presentations. He also expressed gratitude to the University administration for their constant

encouragement and support in conducting the Webinar and participants in making the

WEBINAR a grand success.
