The Need

Pediatric cancer needs are growing

If our services are not increased, pediatric patients may wait several weeks or months for vital appointments or families may be required to go out of state for these services

Growth in St. Luke’s Pediatric Oncology (FY04 – FY09)

Procedures: 39% increase (7,677 to 10,713)

Clinic Visits: 39% increase (2,803 to 3,902)

New Patients: 39% increase (160 to 223)

The Solution

Expand St. Luke’s Pediatric Oncology facility

Triple square footage (from 3,000 sq ft to 9,000 sq ft)

Larger treatment area (from 5 chairs/beds to 12)

Five additional exam rooms (from 3 rooms to 8)

Additional Nurses Station (from 1 station to 2)

Expanded waiting and play area for families, patients, and friends

Additional lab (from 1 lab to 2)

Additional consultation rooms (from 1 room to 3)

More space for support functions – Child Life Specialist
