It was a wonderfully “successful”Seminar! Over 900 people at-tended this year’s event in San
Diego and, although the weatherwas a bit uncooperative, everyoneI spoke with had a terrific time andcommended us for the excellentprogram we put together. All of usat Duro-Last greatly appreciateyour steadfast dedication to ensur-ing that the “World’s Best Roof”®
maintains its enviable position inthe marketplace.
On stage at our awards banquet,it was truly a pleasure for me togreet well over 100 companies thatdepict “American Success Stories.”That was our theme this year, andit certainly applies to our award
winners – both this year’s recipientsas well as those of you who aredestined to receive awards in thecoming years because of yourcommitment to success.
We’re expecting it to be a greatyear for Duro-Last. We’re off to agood start already, as our Januarysales reached a new record. I’mconfident that the enthusiasm, thelearning, and the networking thatwas shared at this year’s NationalSales Seminar will propel us tonew levels of success in 2013!
Operational efficiency, productinnovation, and customer intimacyare three important drivers of busi-ness success. During my GeneralSession presentation, I felt privi-
leged to talk about these topics, and how Duro-Last is committedto being strong in all of them. Withthe changes we’re implementing inproduction and other departments,as well as our large and growinggroup of products, we’re confidentthat Duro-Last will indeed be the“Edge to Edge & Deck to Sky”™
supplier that will enable you toefficiently address virtually anycommercial roofing opportunity. The most important of these three
qualities to Duro-Last is, of course, customer intimacy. It’s the one that’sat the heart of how we do business. Our relationship is much more thanmanufacturer-supplier. We take a
sincere interest in your needs, withthe knowledge that our success isdependent on your success. Everyyear, our Seminar gives us theopportunity to reinforce this theme, and learn from you how we canmake our commitment evenstronger. Thank you!
As I said in my Seminar remarks, Ichallenge you to examine your ownbusiness and strive to improve ineach of these areas. I’m confidentthat our combined dedication to excellence will help us reach newheights in 2013 and beyond.

It was the ideal location to bring the 2013 National SalesSeminar to a close. With “American Success Stories” as atheme, it was appropriate that we would hold our finaleparty on board the USS Midway – the renowned aircraftcarrier that’s now a museum berthed at the Port of SanDiego. We were proud of the patriotic send-off we wereable to provide to 2013 Seminar attendees.
