Multi CubeNow this is very clever, even for those who think they know what's going on here. Take a look at the diagram - how many cubes can you see? You can give 1 or 2 answers, but you are not allowed to count 'overlapping' cubes as part of any one total. As soon as you think you know the answer/s, click the picture for the full optical illusion and be amazed.

Magic ZoomsterThis cool optical illusion has been seen before, but I've spruced it up by adding colour, multiple layers, and making it bigger!! The idea is to focus on the dot in the centre and then move your head constantly towards and away from the monitor. You should see the circles rotate spookily! Press the F11 key in your browser to see the illusion at full screen!

Flickering FogBased on an illusion by

Akiyoshi Kitaoka

Just like you did for the Eclipse of Mars, stare intently at the red dot in the center of the left block for about a couple of minutes.

Once you've done this, look over to the center of the right block. It should act weird - by fading out and 'flickering'. If you move your head closer and further from the monitor (while focussing in the center), you should see some interesting interference effects too.

Vanishing FluffStare at the black dot for a minute (the longer the better), and watch the colored 'fluff' disappear!

A BulgeAlso created by Akiyoshi, the lines in this picture below are completely parallel would you believe?

Which colored line does the white line line up with?

Page 49: "A chameleon" The "eyes" of a chameleon appear to rotate

Mona Lisa looks just fine in the first picture, but there is something terribly wrong with her in the second. She is frowning and her eyes are looking down or they are upside down. Now, turn your head upside down... c'mon it's not that hard! And look at the second picture. The face will pretty much look fine to you. Both of the pictures will look very similar if you do this.

How many shelves do you see in this eye trick picture? Look to the right and you'll see three shelves, look to the left and you'll see four shelves! So where are you going to put your pictures?

Page 51: "A chameleon" The "eyes" of a chameleon appear to rotate

Which way does this window face. Are the people on the inside looking to the left or looking to the right? Are you looking up into the window, or are you looking down into the window. Quite a crazy amazing optical illusion drawing!

Page 52: "A chameleon" The "eyes" of a chameleon appear to rotate

Check out this chalk drawing of a Sony Laptop computer. Doesn't it look like the top part of the screen is just jumping off the pavement? Nicely done.
