PLC PROGRAM FROM USB-1761-PM02

A. Downloading Software, installing and assigning Communication Port.

1. Get USB-1761-CBL-PM02 (AB-PLC -1000-1100-1200-1400)..

2. Plug the USB-1761-CBL-PM02 on Laptop and Micrologix 1100(ON).

3. Go to Driver file and install all. After Installing reboot the laptop.

4. After Reboot →System→ Device Manager→ Ports com & LPT (SEE USB Serial CH340).

5. If you see “CH340” the process is “ok” if not repeat process until and unless you get “CH340”.

6. Double click USB- Serial “CH340” →Port Settings→ Advanced→ Assigned your “Com Port No”.

7. Reboot the Laptop and MicroLogix 1100 and confirm the communication port or choose default.

B. Connection RS-Linx with Micrologix 1100 through USB-1761-CBL-PM02

1. Open RS-Linx Lite → Communications→ Configure Drivers →Available Driver Type→

RS-232DFT Devices→ Add New & Choose new name→ New Screen Pop Out.

2. Enter your Commport & Enter "SLC-CH0/Micro/Panel View” in Device & Auto

Configure.

3. If you see “Auto Configuration Successful” then everything is ‘ok’ otherwise see the

communication port and its settings and make it successful until it get correct.

4. If connected successfully then “AB_DF1 DH485 Sta.0.COM4.Running” will pop out in the

RS-Linx configure Driver.

5. Click on 3-square boxes on left top hand side of RsLinx Classic Lite → ‘’AB_DF1-1, DH-

485’’ & see the Micrologix 1100, see 01 box active or not If active Minimize it otherwise

it is crossed then re-configure.

C. Connection RS-Linx with Micrologix 1100 through USB-1761-CBL-PM02

1. Open RS-logix Micro Starter lite “File→ New → Bul 1763 Micrologix 1100 Series B

(Select Driver e.g. AB_DF1-1)→ ok

2. Screen with Rung should pope out where we can make the PLC Program.

3. Once simple program is made → Communication → System Communication →

AB_DF1-1, DH485→ select ‘’Micrologix 1100’’→ Download→ Give name & Select

destination→ Save it→ Yes→ Read the message of download & select ‘yes’.

Micrologix 1100 Device should be in program mode rather than run mode.

4. It will start downloading the code immediately if it is in program mode otherwise

change it to program mode and then select ok. Then it will ask “Do you want to run

it”→ yes. See if Node is revolving or not if it is running then it is working properly.

Once you will change Micrologix 1100 device from program to run mode then you

can check your program. If you want to change the code then again you have to go

Run mode to Program mode in Device and download it then save it with same name

or different name.

D. PLC Program of Traffic light through USB-1761-CBL-PM02

1. Open File of Traffic Light from destination file and close the current file to

replace with traffic program → communication→ system communication→

Download→ ok→ yes→ Program mode in Micrologix 1100 Device→ ok→ Go

Run Mode→ ok. Again put Run mode in Mocrologix1100 Device.

Wireless Ethernet Connection

A. Network & Sharing Center

1. Go Control Panel→ Network & Sharing Center → change adapter setting

2. If Network is “local area connection”→ Properties→ Internet protocol ‘’IPV4’’ and

select “obtain IP automatically” as well as ‘’DNS Server address automatically’’.

3. If network is “wireless” → Properties→ Internet protocol “IPV4” and select “obtain IP

Automatically” as well as ‘’DNS Server address automatically’’.

B. Download and Install BOOTP/DHCP server 2.3 or BootPDHPC 3.01.00

1. Download Load BOOTP/DHCP Server 2.3 for a wireless network server connection and

BOOTP/DHCP 3.01 for normal network connection for ‘’Local Area Connection”.

2. Connect Ethernet cable to device & go ‘’Enet Configuration of Micrologix-1100 Device.

3. If you are connected from the wireless then double click BOOT-DHCP SERVER and

search same MAC/IP inside the Micrologix 1100.

4. Click and add to ‘relation list’ Add IP Address ‘’192.168.0.37 for PERTH but vary in

yours’’ for example and make sure that the first three digit is the same as your IP.

Address and last digits you are allowed to choose according to your selection.

5. Wait for some time and same address you will see in ‘’Request History’’.

6. Check in Micrologix 1100 Device Enet display ‘’you can see same address’’ if not recheck

all the process and Ethernet connection cable.

7. Disable BOOTP/DHCP once the IP Address has been adjusted. This will save the given

address inside the Micrologix 1100 machine.

C. Ethernet Connection with RS Link Classic:

1. Go to the RS-link classic→ Communication → Ethernet/IP Driver

2. Add new→ ’’AB_ETHP-1(Name)→’ok’→ Windows default →ok

3. You can see 192.168.0.37 in square box whereas South Africa and UK. will be different.

D. Programming in RS-Logix Software:

1. Open RS-Logix → New → Bul 1763-Micrologix 1100 Series B & also see Driver AB-ETHIP-1 → ok.

2. Create New Rung with program. 3. Go→ Communication→ System Communication → Click 192.168.0.37 (PERTH) and

‘’Download it’’ and ‘’Save it’’. 4. Before it, adjust ‘’Program ‘’ in ‘’Micrologix 1100’’ and this is crucial because without it

you cannot load the program into ‘’Micrologix 1100’’. 5. Then you will see ‘’Replace or overwrite as you like’’ → ‘’Are you sure you want to

proceed with Download’’ → yes →Do you want to go Online →yes. 6. Put the ‘’Micrologix 1100’’ in ‘’Run’’ or ‘’Remote ‘’ Mode. 7. In the remote mode you can control the program wirelessly and also reprogram it.

E: Connecting Traffic Lights Circuits with MICRO-LOGIX 1100 PLC:

a. See the connection of G0,B1,R2 with all vertical leds as well as G3,B4,R5 with all horizontal Leds from Micro-Logix 1100 individual output pins (O/0,O/1,O/2, O/3,O/4,O/5).

b. In addition, there should be common connection between all the GO, B1,R2 four vertically leds and G3,B4,R5 four horizontally Leds light according to colors.

c. There is connection between all negative wires of all total Leds and negative supply of +5v power source and +5v to the common “Vdc” of Micrologix 1100 PLC as shown in figure.

d. Program the ladder language and see the blinking of individual led light according to code.
