A FAN’S GUIDE TO

ED SMITH STADIUM

Welcome to a new era in Sarasota’s rich baseball history

The Sarasota community has hosted Spring Training baseball uninterrupted since 1926…the longest such streak in Major League Baseball. Now, in the newest chapter in this proud history, the Orioles are excited to welcome you to Sarasota’s newest crown jewel and our home for the next three decades.

From the moment Sarasota became our new Grapefruit League headquarters last year, we have been embraced by the citizens and local business and political leaders. The popularity of baseball in this area was evident last season, as we welcomed over 100,000 fans for the first time in franchise history, and enjoyed the largest Spring Training attendance increase in the Major Leagues. We are proud to be a part of this community, and are exited to share this new facility with our neighbors.

The ballpark renovations we’ve made go far beyond the new Sarasota-inspired architecture. All new conveniences and amenities like widened concourses, new elevator towers, new concession stands and restrooms, an HD-scoreboard incorporating the look of signage from Payne Park, and an Official Orioles Team Store have been added to create a ballpark experience unlike anything the Sun Coast has enjoyed before. Inside this guide, you’ll find details on several new ballpark features, each designed with the fan in mind. And each designed to help you create new memories with family and friends.

If you have any further questions, please call our offices at 941-954-4101 or visit the Fan Assistance Center, courtesy of the Herald-Tribune, located inside the Home Plate entrance.

Enjoy exploring this guide book and, more importantly, your new ballpark!
