GREENER FASHION FROM A LITTLE

GREEN COUNTRY Our collection is for the independent and the bold. Each design is a fusion of geometry, clean lines and striking contrast, drawing inspiration from contemporary art and urban-chic style. JOIN US ON OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS

CREATING A MORE SUSTAINABLE FASHION INDUSTRY.

Each collection is designed from scratch in the heart of Basque Country. Its a green country where fashion, the power of people, and sustainability co-exist. It is here that the su-rrounding urban landscapes, filled with colour and contemporary art expressions continue to inspire us every day. In a fashion industry that often forgets environmental issues and creates non-durable products for massive consumption, it is up to us to create change.

We are committed to making durable fashion both in style and quality. Rather than doing an eco-line, we apply this principle across all our operations, from fibers to wet processes, from packaging to transport, and also in the interaction with the consumer. We believe in this change and we are at the forefront of it.We see this voyage as a cons-tant search and improvement with a clear goal of increasing actions and results.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

We believe that a more sustainable fashion industry is not only possible but needed.

Skunkfunk works with inter-nationally recognized social certifications to contribute to improving labor conditions in its supply chain.

GOTS certified since 2014, Skunkfunk requests all their suppliers to be certified by an internationally recognized stan-dard (BSCI, SA8000, GOTS, etc).

New suppliers must comply from day one, whereas former suppliers must engage in a gradual plan for their social certification.

Skunkfunk asks their suppliers to follow their Ethical Code of Conduct to ensure that all practices respect both the people and the planet. Each new Skunkfunk supplier is requested to have a social certification (BSCI, SA8000, ETI, FWF or WRAP). -Social requirements: -No child labour -Employment is freely chosen -Non-discrimination -Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining -Payment of a living wage -No excessive working hours -Safe and healthy working conditions -Harassment and abuse prohibited -Legally-binding employment relationship

CHETNA ORGANIC PROJECT

In order to promote the protection of biodiversity and improve the livelihood options of small farmers in India, Skunkfunk has joined the CHETNA project in 2015. The CHETNA cooperative, located in the rain fed regions of central India, works to train farmers to enhance agri-cultural productivity and produce natural pesticides and compost. To this day, CHETNA has trained about 35,852 farmers in organic agriculture, giving them access to the internatio-nal organic cotton market. By doing so, CHETNA helps to make farming a sustainable and profitable occupation. Skunkfunk joined a coalition of brands committed to buying CHETNA cotton, in an effort to secure sustainable raw materials, while supporting local communities and improving social and environmental impacts of the textile supply chain.Skunkfunk is proud to introduce this organic cotton in our collections.

Based on its first carbon footprint analysis, several mea-sures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have been undertaken:

- In 2015, Skunkfunk headquarters in Basque Country offset 100% of their energy use through purchasing renewable energy certificates by Goiener.- Through a UPS Carbon Neutral partnership, Skunkfunk offsets 42% of its online store deliveries in Europe.

These two actions have led to a saving of 122,38t CO2e, representing a 25% decrease of Skunkfunk organization’s carbon footprint in 2015 compared with 2014. The total savings is equivalent to: * Driving over 480.400 km in an average small car* 1,28 million passenger km in economy class in long haul flights.

In March 2016, Skunkfunk was awarded as a company for its low carbon emission strategy by the Bilbao municipality

· In 2015, 62% of the cardboard boxes which arrived with pro-duction shipments were reused.· All Skunkfunk products are packed in 100% biodegradable bags.· Skunkfunk only uses recycled paper or paper respecting our forests.

“Not a shopping day, a swapping day!” : we organise events at our stores to let our customers exchange Skunkfunk clothes in order to give them a second life.

Over 90% of Skunkfunk goods are transported by sea.

Skunkunk is collecting used clothes in its retail network in cooperation with Koopera, a Basque organization aimed at creating social employment and giving clothes a second life.

Skunkfunk has a full-time employee working on product repairs and extending the life cycle of its defective or dam-aged products.

Skunkfunk is confronting climate change with an ambitious goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 30% by 2020, compared to 2015.

SKUNKFUNK PRESENTS ZERO WASTE COLLECTION BASED ON THE IDEA OF UTILIZING EVERY INCH OF THE FABRIC

We believe that fashion can and must be sustainable. We are constantly looking for innovative production methods that can reduce waste and CO2 emissions without sacrificing creativity. PATTERNS

That’s why we challenged our design team. While travelling to factories we realized that there were a lot of fabric leftovers because we were not thinking properly about the patterns while designing our clothes. We su-ggested for them to create garments taking into consideration 100% of the fabric width. Normally there is 15% to 20 % of the fabric not used that is completely thrown to the rubbish and what we have reached is 100% use of the total width of the fabric roll.

IT CHANGES COMPLETELY THE WAY WE THINK ABOUT CREATING GARMENTS.

Our capsule collection is composed of two styles: our dress ARGEMONE and our skirt CAREX. The ARGEMONE dress is available in an all-over print and the skirt in a light blue color chambray that we specially developed for this collection.

Our approach to sustainability is holistic, so all of the Skunkfunk team shares this philo-sophy. This is the inspiration behind our Zero Waste Capsule Collection, our commitment to sustainability.
