A GOAL BEYOND VICTORY, A STANDARD ABOVE WINNING Agenda Varsity and JV Requirements and Expectations Boosters Club Overview Committees - We need you! Communications Budget Status Fundraising Concessions Team Stuff Recap - What We Need Now Closing Comments and Questions Jason Kirk Boys and Girls Assistant Head Coach Gary Kirk Boys Varsity Assistant Eric Devoursney Girls Varsity Head Coach Garrett Hurlbert Boys JV Head Coach Jonathan Gill Girls JV Head Coach JV Boys and Girls The practice field (the one between the game field and the side parking lot) from 3:15-4:45 Varsity Girls Game field from 3:15-4:45 Both game field and practice field Varsity Boys Game Field from 3:15-4:45 Both game field and practice field *Times are subject to change* All players are eligible for Varsity until they choose to become ineligible. Ways to stay eligible : Do what is expected of a HOCO soccer player Ways to become ineligible : Not meet fitness test expectations Not meet Academic expectations Not meet fundraiser expectations Not meet behavior expectations Not meet attendance expectations Girls 2 Mile Run Completed in 17:00 Plyometric Test A series of plyometric tests that will emphasize body weight conditioning and muscle endurance Sprint Test (24 total min) Complete 16 sets of 100 yard sprints. 20 Second sprint 45 second recovery jog 25 second break Boys 2 Mile Run Completed in 14:00 Plyometric Test A series of plyometric tests that will emphasize body weight conditioning and muscle endurance Sprint Test (45 total min) Complete 30 sets of 100 yard sprints. 20 Second sprint 45 second recovery jog 25 second break Grade Point Average Each Player must maintain an 80% overall average If a player is below that average, they will be put on an academic monitoring schedule. The coaches will see a copy of everyones GPA and tardiness/absences every Friday during the season. If a player is failing ANY class or does not maintain an 80% overall average, they may miss parts or all of games. All players must attend all practices for their specified team. If there is a reason as to why you will not be at practice, you need to contact your coach immediately as to why you are not going to be there. Effective excuses must be school related or any valid emergency. All JV players must attend all HOME Varsity matches of your respective gender. You will get in free and there will be a sign in sheet at the concession stand. All Varsity players must attend all Varsity games. That means that the boys come early to watch the first half and that the girls stay late to watch the boys games. If there is a reason as to why you cannot attend, you need to let your coach know immediately. Regardless of the time of the game, or the score, you are watching, cheering, interested and extremely supportive. Positive, positive, positive! Coaches coach. Players play. Parents cheer. Parents should NEVER talk to a coach about playing time. If they do, it puts the coaches in an unwinnable situation and WILL effect your playing time in a negative way: The coach will not play you because it allows all parents to complain to gain playing time, even if you have earned it through hard work. Coaches will always do what we think is best for the team. The best way to improve the team is to improve yourself Host: CGSA Director of Coaching Dean Blain Location: CGSA Soccer Complex Dates Monday, January 18 th Girls at 4, Boys at 5:30 Tuesday, January 19 th Girls at 4, Boys at 5:30 Wednesday, January 20 th Girls at 4, Boys at 5:30 Thursday, January 21 th Girls at 4, Boys at 5:30 Cost is $40 and needs to be paid to Dean Blain The purpose of this camp is to help promote preseason development to get you ready for our tryouts. Practices and sessions will be a mix of all eligible players for Varsity or for JV. All players not eligible for Varsity will practice with the JV team for the duration of the week. On Wednesday, February 3 rd a team will be chosen as Varsity and as JV. This is the team that will be written as the Varsity or JV team in the program that will be printed for the sponsors as well as the teams that will be in the yearbook. It may not be the team that we take into the playoffs All rosters are fluid and subject to change throughout the season based on growth and development of the players.
