Th ank you from Fr. Wayne:Th ank you ffrrooommm Fr. Wayne:

I am deeply grateful to everyone who sent birthday wishes and attended my birthday celebration on sunday. Your generous gift s and cards were wonderful to receive. As you know, I was notifi ed that my mother may have had a stroke or a sudden change in her illness so, my sister, dad, and I left the party to be at her side. Th e immediate danger has passed, however she continues to suff er the terrible eff ects of Alzheimer’s disease daily. Th ank you to all who

planned and worked so hard to give me a birthday party. I will hold your prayers, your love and your support forever in my

heart. May God bless you!

-Fr. Wayne

Next weekend we will have envelopes for the Diocesan Services Fund.

Sharing what you have through a gift to the DSF helps fund programs such as, the Permanent Diaconate, Ethnic Ministries, the Offi ce of Pro-Life Activities, and more.“Keep doing good works and sharing your

resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifi ces that please God.” Hebrews 13:16

All youth in grades 6-8 are invited to explore the depths and riches of our faith presented in a fun and relevant way that brings the wonder and marvel of the Church to life for middle school youth on Sunday evenings beginning with Mass at 5:00 pm, followed by Shine from 6-7:30 pm. For more information on Shine, which is our middle school ministry for grades 6-8, we invite you to visit stmichaelchurch.net/Shine

Baptism Program

Changing!

Starting this March, the Baptism ministry will make baptism classes easier on parents and godparents to fulfi ll their requirements for the baptism. Baptism class will now be a prerequisite for both parents of the child and the

godparents. This class will go over the theology and history of baptism, the rite, Christian parenting, and the responsibilities of godparents, thus fulfi lling the requirement for fi rst-time parents,

returning parents, and godparents. Parents need to take the baptism class within the second trimester of pregnancy so that everything can be prepared for when the baby comes.

We will now offer the class on the second Tuesday of each month (except in December) from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Starting March 17, child care will be available in the nursery, and any children under 1 year old may be brought into class.

The fi rst opportunity for this class is March 12. We will offer the class again on April 9. This new class will now be considered suffi cient formation for 4 years.

We are now also requiring sponsors to sign a form committing to serve as godparents. This document will reiterate the godparent qualifi cations verifying that the godparents are well-suited and prepared to serve in their lifetime role.

If you wish to register or have any questions, please contact Jasmine Perez at (713) 403-4106.

For all current and future parents and godparents:

Dear Parents, There will be a nursery closure March 4-15. We appreciate your patience during this

closure as renovations are done to create a more friendly environement to care for your children.

The nursery will reopen on March 17 after renovations have been completed.
