Genesis 12:10-16At that time a severe famine struck the

land of Canaan, forcing Abram to go down to Egypt, where he lived as a foreigner. As he was approaching the boarder of Egypt, Abram said to his wife, Sarai, “Look, you are a very beautiful woman. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife. Let’s us kill him; then we can have her!’ So please tell them you are my sister. Then they will spare my life and treat me well because of their interest in you.”

Genesis 12:10-16And sure enough, when Abram arrived in Egypt, everyone spoke of Sarai’s beauty. When the palace officials saw her, they sang her praises to Pharaoh, their king, and Sarai was taken into his palace. Then Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts because of her; sheep, goats, cattle, male and female donkeys, male and female servants and camels.

Matthew 15:21-28Then Jesus left Galilee and went

north to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Galilee woman who lived there came to him, pleading, “Have mercy on me, o Lord, Son of David! For my daughter is possessed by a demon that torments her severely.” But Jesus gave her no reply, not even a word. Then His disciples urged Him to send her away. “Tell her to go away,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.” Then Jesus said to the woman, “I was sent only to help God’s lost sheep; the people of Israel.”

Matthew 15:21-28But she came and worshiped Him,

pleading again, “Lord, help me!” Jesus responded, “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.” She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their master’s table.” “Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “Your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed.

A Greater Love• Isaiah 49:14-15 Yet Jerusalem says, “The LORD has deserted us; the LORD has forgotten us.” “Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!”• John 15:13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
