Bamboo is not a tree but a type of grass that rapidly grows and turns

into a woody stem. During its growth bamboo captures enormous amounts of carbon while producing 30% more

oxygen than trees.

Bamboo doesn’t requires re-planting after harvest. A well managed bamboo forest or plantation can produce quality

timber for decades or even centuries. Essentially, cutting bamboo can be

compared to mowing a lawn, it will just continue to grow.

By using bamboo products we can reduce greenhouse gasses and help

prevent the effects of climate change. Therefore, we believe bamboo is the

perfect building material of the present and the future.

Bamboo Import is specialised in producing and distributing bamboo products for the international construction market. With our corpo-rate headquarters and main warehouse located in The Netherlands we can ship any order big or small throughout Europe. Worldwide shipping is possible for full container orders only.

Our product range varies from Asiatic to South American bamboo species, which all have their specific properties and uses. Chi-nese Moso and Tonkin bamboo for example are perfectly suited for decorative applications such as garden fences, edging or as a raw material for further processing into panels, beams or flooring products.

Indonesian bamboo poles are available up to 18 cm in diameter and 12.5 m length. These poles are often used in temporary buil-ding structures and outdoor fencing applications.

Strongest bamboo species in the world: Guadua angustifolia(construction bamboo from South America)

WE DO NOT PRODUCE WITH THEIR FOOD SOURCE!

The giant panda lives in the mountain ranges in central China, mainly in the

Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces.Their diet consists for 99% out of bam-

boo and mainly feed on the leaves, bran-ches and stems of the species Fargesia

dracocephala and Fargesia rufa.

Neither of these bamboo species are used in construction or any other value added products. The types of bamboo used by Bamboo Import Europe BV are not on the Panda’s menu, and do not

pose any threat to the natural habitat of the giant panda.

Tonkin poles, compared to Moso, are very dimensionally stable over the entire length of the pole. Although only available in diameters of 1-2 cm, they are a very strong bamboo species. Tonkin sticks are the #1 preferred bamboo for fly rod makers or in agricultural uses (propsand plants support sticks).

CHINESE BAMBOOFrom China we import three unique bamboo species; Phyllostachys

edulis (Moso), Phyllostachys nigra (Black Bamboo) and Pseudosasa

amabilis (Tonkin). Chinese bamboos are very popular because of their

decorative appearance and affordable price point. All species have a

glossy outer layer which makes them very attractive but difficult to paint.

Diameters from 1-13 cm and lengths up to 12,5 m (depending on the

species) are immediately available for shipping from our warehouse in

Europe. Bamboo “trees” naturally taper from bottom to top. For Chinese

bamboos this usually means a taper percentage of around 20-30% for a

3 m pole, therefore advertised diameters are always measured from the

bottom of the pole.

Bamboo poles might also crack in its vertical direction. Cracks usually

appear when air humidity decreases. For this reason it is not advisable

to use bamboo poles in locations with air conditioning. Chinese bamboos

are recommended for decoration purposes, small projects, fencing or

furniture.

Phyllostachys nigra

INDONESIAN BAMBOOFrom Indonesia we offer three different bamboo species; Dendro-

calamus asper (Giant Bamboo), Gigantochloa apus (Tali Bamboo)

and Gigantochoa atrovioalacea (Tropical Black Bamboo). Indonesian

bamboos are tropical species which can produce poles up to 18 cm in

diameter.

Compared to Chinese bamboo, these poles are easy to paint due to

their porous outer layer which absorbs stain or varnish very well.

Indonesian bamboo species are very tall and less tapered.

The average decrease in diameter from one end toward the other is

usually between 10-15% for a 3 m long pole. Cracking in its vertical

direction may occur due to air humidity changes.

Indonesian bamboos are recommended for decorative purposes,

garden fencing, gazebos, pergolas, furniture and temporary structures.

Guadua angustifolia. This bamboo is known for its tremendous

strength properties, its minimal taper in diameter and straight poles.

Guadua bamboo is able to achieve constructive values far above those

of wood and even mild steel.

Guadua bamboo poles are available in diameters from 5 to 16 cm

with a maximum length of 10 meters. This bamboo is widely used in

construction projects all around Latin America. Guadua is known for

its earthquake resistant properties and durability (in Colombia Guadua

houses of more than 200 years old are recorded).

Because of its extraordinary mechanical properties, more and more

European architect and engineers are integrating Guadua into new and

innovative construction projects. Guadua angustifolia is considered the

Rolls Royce of bamboo and is suited for virtually any use.

Our rolled bamboo fences are very stable and designed with great care.

Galvanised steel wires run through the poles to make our fences both

flexible and strong. To avoid moisture or dirt build up on top of the fen-

ce, only poles are selected with an end node which forms a natural cap

system. Installing rolled bamboo fencing is very easy. Drill small holes

through every 4 to 5 bamboo poles and fix them against an existing wall

with the appropriate screws.

Tie wraps can be used for installing these bamboo fences against a

metal fence or frame.

Our rolled bamboo fencing is available in Medium, Large and Extra Lar-

ge size. They come in either a natural or natural dark color. To ensure

maximum durability of your bamboo fence, we recommend coating

them with our specially developed bamboo oil.

HOW TO INSTALL BAMBOO FENCE PANELSGIANT and LINJOSA

Our Giant and Linjosa panels are robust and relatively heavy, so it is important to properly install and secure these bamboo fence panels. With our specially developed stainless steel clamp system, anybody can easily and securely install these beautiful fencing panels.

INSTRUCTIONS(Illustrated manual included with the purchase of our stainless steel clamps):

1. Determine the distance between the wooden garden posts.

2. Dig sufficiently ample holes to make sure you can fit the wooden garden posts.

3. Secure the stainless steel bamboo clamps on the first wooden garden post with the supplied

bolts (the correct height can be found in the instruction manual).

4. Place the first wooden post in the ground at the right height.

5. Place the bamboo panel against the wooden garden post and secure the panel with a M8 bolt

that goes through the clamp and the screen. Fasten the bolt with a M8 nut. Note that pre-drilling

is necessary, use the special bamboo drill bitt included in the mounting kit.

6. Now that the Bamboo screen is secured on one side, give it some support on the bottom and

advance with prepping the other garden post. After installing and securing the 4 clamps and

bamboo panel, it should hang nicely levelled between the two wooden posts. (see fig. 1)

7. For the ultimate tropical experience you may want to cover the wooden post with a half split

bamboo pole (ADDITIONAL). (see fig. 2)

8. The final result is shown in fig. 3. Thanks to our specially developed stainless steel clamps it has

never been easier to install tropical bamboo garden fences like a pro.

BAMBOO PERGOLA KIT

Bamboo pergolas are one of our most popular items. Although it is great fun to build your own,

we have prefab kits available that are quick and easy to set up. Our pergola kits come with all the

required hardware and are packed in a convenient carrying bag with instructions. The pergola has

a standard dimension of 4.00 (L) x 3.00 (W) x 3.00 (H) meter but are easily to trim if desired. The

bamboo poles have a diameter of 3-5, 6-8 and 9-10 cm.

BAMBOO EDGING ROLLS

Our bamboo edging rolls are used as a

separation of your walkway or front yard, but

they are also suitable as a planter to enrich

your garden or balcony. A lot of attention

goes into piercing and joining each bamboo

pole with galvanised steel wires. Due to the

flexibility of the edging rolls you can place

them in different shapes. All our edging rolls

are naturally closed at the top.

BAMBOO THATCHED ROOF

Our thatched roofs are made from real

dried straw and are attached to a slat.

This roof cover is easy to install and can

be used as shelter, an umbrella or even

as wall covering. It is easy to shorten the

thatched strips by just cutting the stick.

Length of the straw is about 70 cm.

LUXURIOUS BAMBOO STAND BENNELLY

The Bennelly stand is a unique product that can be used for several

applications. Often used as a corner piece for building bamboo pergolas

or kiosks it is available is a variety of sizes and diameters.

Bamboo poles can be mounted to the stand with screws or bolts.

For the ultimate look we recommend finishing the joints with manila

lashings rope, which will result in an authentic and exotic construction.

Please give bamboo the right treatment. Bamboo Booster feeds, nurtures and strengthens your bamboo garden products. Bamboo Booster is a clear and 100% natural bamboo oil. Suitable for treating bam-boo items such as: bamboo poles, bamboo fences, bamboo furniture. Apply Bamboo Booster preferably in a thin layer and rub it with a dry, lint-free cloth. For the best protection, we recommend to repeat this treatment annually.

Bamboo protector is a transparent UV protectedbamboo stain. Suitable for the treatment ofbamboo items such as: Bamboo Poles, Bamboogarden fences, bamboo mats, pergolas, gazebosBamboo and similar products.

The bamboo protector is developed with aUV protector for outdoor use. It gives your bamboolong-term protection and prevents discoloration.The color is transparent so it can be usedon all bamboo species.

New bamboo materials are beautiful with a warm and natural look. Aging of bamboo can occur because of the weather condition. For your convenience we developed the Grey-Go “Bamboo grey removal“. The Grey Go “Bamboo grey removal“ makes bamboo products like bamboo poles, bamboo garden fences, bamboo rolls and bamboo furniture in a simple treatment clean and uplifted. To protect the natural and warm look of bam-boo you can apply Bamboo Booster, another product of our maintenance product line.
