A Guide On How To Write An Environmental Plan
Theres stronger pressure
nowadays for communities to
come up with an environmental
plan to support not only the
growing population but also the
strong ties of environmental
concerns on programs for
economic growth. Over the last
ten years, the world witnessed the
catastrophic effects of natural disasters which are expected to intensifymore as the earths protective layers continue to deplete, mainly due to
human activities.
Authorities believe its not yet too late and people can still make a change,
not really to reverse effects but more to strengthen whatever defences are
left. Its for this reason that its imperative for communities to make use of
an environmental plan. The question is: How do legal policies, standards,
strategies and creative ideas figure effectively in an environmental plan?
What are the vital things to remember regarding how to write an
environmental plan?
The thing is, there are technical guides on how to write an environmental
plantheyre basically templates that people can pattern their work on so
the final document will be cohesive and completely organized . Whats
more important really is the content to be placed in an EP. For this, thereare only four important questions to keep in mind.
First question: Where is the community now with regards to environmental
awareness and efforts to address growing concerns? Its important to
identify all the components that will assess the position of the community

in the context of environmental consciousness, such as the actual physical
position or geography, population, natural resources, pollution and its
sources, as well as political and civic institutions, to mention a few.
Second question: Where are things projected to go? This will make use of
the communitys assessment ofwhere the current situation is headed based
on the trends and the practices of the members. It provides everybody a
solid projection of the future if change will not be carried out.
Third question: Where does the community want to go? To illustrate this,
heres a little anecdote: back in the nineties, a small Japanese community
learned of the terrible fate of the landfill close to town and how that would
detrimentally affect the health of their own residents. The officials rallied
the town folks to come up with creative plans for the landfill so it would
cease to be a liability to their community. After years of research, and more
years of area rehabilitation, the former landfill became a beautiful local
park.
If the projected future does not reflect the ideal end point, its important to
know what the community really wants to have after a given time period.
Last question: How does the community get to their ideal end point? An
action plan has to be created of course. It would take a lot of research to
satisfy the objectives and several other processes to determine which
methods work or dont.

Why An Environmental Management Plan Is A Winning Effort
In countries like Japan and Germany, the development of environmentally-
friendly technologies continues to get better every year. In the recent
episode of NHKs Japan Biz Cast, a new newspaper recycling machine wasfeatured; its basically one of the solutions created to address Japans need
to limit the cutting of the trees in their forests. It was reported in the
episode that the manufacturers of the machine already had numerous
orders all over the world even before it was showcased at the trade show.
Such effort only goes to show that the environmental management plan
that industries are required to have (though not all are compelled to
produce) is actually working.
Minimising the harmful environmental effects of industrial operationsthrough the EMP is yielding amazing results that actually transcend the
original purpose for which an environmental management planis created.
This has prompted big companies to utilise a different approach in
maximising their productivity and promoting their services or products,
therefore, creating more paradigm shifts that go beyond the industrial

community. Being environmentally-aware is a solid global movement; some
people call it being green or eco-friendly but basically, its a much needed
effort to protect and preserve the environment for everybodys great
benefit. This generation has witnessed the catastrophic retaliation of
Mother Nature for the centuries that mankind neglected to uphold itscalling to be stewards of the earth. Its unfortunate that beauty and
provision were not enough for mankind to come up with systems to protect
and preserve the environment; it had to take great tragedies.
Despite this, a lot of business groups initially found the EMP unnecessary
it was additional work that drew attention away from the actual work. But
with the worsening environmental conditions that are largely attributed to
the neglect of certain industries in incorporating eco-sound practices, business groups these days are appreciating the value of the EMP. Think
about it: what business would prefer to be investigated constantly and be
at the receiving end of the wrath of concerned citizens over creating an
environmental management plan?
Being compliant with the help of the EMP can greatly boost the morale of
any business. The employees take pride in what they do, thus, giving them
more enthusiasm to keep up their good work. Being labelled eco-
conscious is also another big advantage since a lot of consumers/clientsnowadays believe in the benefits of green options. If a company has that
label assuring its customers that its products and the process by which they
are made have very minimal effect on the environment, or that it (the
company) actively promotes eco-awareness, its likely to generate more
support.
Being good, in business terms, was underrated for a long time. Industries
were mainly focused on profitability, but with the emergence of
management plans, especially the EMP, a fundamental of life makes sense
again. Good always wins.

Lets say that luck is on your side and there are so many business
opportunities coming your way, more than you have ever expected. For
each and every one of your new clients, your company needs to create an
environmental plan so you can effectively go about your operations and
secure even more opportunities for your business. The problem is, youre allnewbies in your company and while you all know the purpose of an EMP
and have a pretty solid idea of what you need to accomplish for it, you
know fully well that getting everything organized and presenting all
information in a cohesive and persuasive manner will be a challenge. You
may have had experience creating one as a project in university but
naturally, you were required to do it with a different group of people. So
what to do? Your company is pressed for time and you need to dish outthose EMPs for your project, your clients are relying on your company to
get everything ready so the project will flow smoothly.
Do the practical thing: buy environmental management plan templates.
Save yourself and your co-workers time and go about the whole process in

a highly-effective and efficient manner. Its just going to be a small
investment for a system that you will utilise countless times over in the
future.
Another benefit that you can get should your company decide to buy
environmental management plan templates is that they can help streamline
your efforts and organize all the important data you have and will still
procure. Also, instead of scrambling around for the next step to the
process, the templates are the perfect guide to help establish the flow for
the creation of the environmental management plan.
There are some people who think that using templates lessens originality.
Experts couldnt disagree more. Basically the templates are mere guides, so
the content for the EMPs always have to be unique for the project. An EMP
is not determined by the framework, but by the carefully researched and
studied content presented in an impressive and persuasive manner.
Buying EMP templates has gotten easier because a lot of management plan
experts have made them downloadable for a price. Practically all templates
promise to be easy to integrate into any companys own system, which isdefinitely a huge advantage as well. They will not easily become obsolete
even if new policies of the ISO emerge. So those who need to create an
EMP fast can simply get EMP templates online.

Sustainable Urban Planning With a Proper Environmental Plan Sample
Skyscrapers. High-rises.
Apartment complexes.
Commercial buildings.
Transport stations.
Roads, bridges,
flyovers... The increasing
number of
infrastructures has
always been considered a sign of a citys fast development. In almost any
metropolis around the world, you would be able to witness several ongoingconstruction projects. Even in small, seemingly sleepy cities, there would
almost always be someone renovating an old structure or creating a new
one. This approach to community-building shows how people often see
progress only as a process of erecting impressive monuments. What they
often neglect to consider is that the sign of a truly wealthy city equally lies
with how they take care of elements that are not man-made, such as the
environment.
Today, there is more awareness towards implementing ecologically-friendly
construction or building systems. Aside from the usual health and safety
manuals required by law, most governments also oblige construction
companies to follow an environmental plan sample that is compliant with
current environmental laws. In Australia, various building laws highlight the
governments support of Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD). Key
construction polices that are relevant to ESD have been passed through the
years. This is to make sure that the development of infrastructures uses
energy and natural resources efficiently and responsibly, and that the
construction processes are non-harmful to the environment.

A look at a current and well-made environmental plan samplewill show a
construction manager how the document aims to incorporate national,
state, and community regulations, industry guidelines, internationally
recognised standards as well as the construction companys own buildingpolicies in a cohesive, simple and adaptable system. The construction
environmental management plan should be easily understandable to fulfil
its role as the builders blueprint for efficient and responsible practices. The
plan should not be filled with technical jargon that the workforce wont be
able to apply the recommendations to daily operations. It also should be
kept up-to-date with the newest legislation changes, as non-compliance
may result in court prosecution, huge fines or loss of business.
All these considerations necessitate a significant amount of time,
comprehensive and current research, legal and industry knowledge, and
effective writing skills to come up with a quality environmental
management plan. For the construction firm, this may usually mean delays
in the project timetable, so that key people can undertake the meticulous
research and writing involved, or huge expenses, in case they decide to hire
a professional environmental management plan consultant.
A third option, on the other hand, offers a fast and cost-effective solution
for procuring a quality environmental plan. The construction firm can
purchase and download the document from a reliable online source. This
will be in the form of a customable template, which the construction
manager or key person will just fill in according to easy-to-follow
instructions. The template will be drafted by highly competent construction
management experts, the plan will be sure to be 100% compliant with
current legislations. With this option, construction companies can be
assured of building strong, safe and environmentally sustainable structures
for the city.

Recycling and Reusing The Highly Effective Concrete Waste Water
Management Strategies
Not everybody is well-informed about the harmful effects of concrete waste
water. A lot of people pay no mind to construction workers dumping it
anywhere where it can be absorbed or washed away, such as water ways or
even an open piece of land.
Concrete waste water is incredibly toxic, so a really good concrete waste
water management is crucial; this type of contaminated water is rich in
potash and caustic soda. For those who do not know what those
compounds are, caustic soda is also known as sodium peroxide and potash
is potassium hydroxide. Why are they toxic? Well, caustic soda is a highly
alkaline substance that can cause respiratory infection when the water has
evaporated. It takes on a powdery form that can be blown away easily by
the wind and inhaled by people. The inhalation of this substance can be
fatal for people with weak lungs, especially those with asthma. Potassium
hydroxide or potash is corrosive; it can irritate the skin, cause itching or
soreness at contact points and it can also impair vision.

Should this kind of waste water be dumped into healthy bodies of water,
the damages will be massive. Concrete waste water is highly alkaline; it can
kill plants and water creatures, as well as spread easily into the reservoir
that supplies homes with clean water. So what can be done to dispose ofthis particular waste?
Groups that have been greatly concerned about this problem have come
up with all sorts of creative concrete waste water management strategies;
concrete water basins and tanks were installed at reclamation systems to
contain the contaminated water until its environmentally acceptable to
finally discharge it, but, proving to be more effective concrete are recycling
and reusing. Certain green companies all over the world have beensuccessful in developing technology that turns contaminated water into
clean and safe H2O. The separation techniques for such technology can
get rid of colour and harmful chemical components like potash and caustic
soda. Its worth mentioning, as well, that these companies are continuously
pushing the technology forward and the next goal is to be able to produce
clean water out of radiation-contaminated water.
A lot of folks will probably not risk their health by drinking recycled CWW,
but it can be used for other purposes, such as, toilet water supply, cleaning
and watering the plants, to cite a few. Reusing CWW, on the other hand,
according to some studies can be done by concrete-mixing companies.
Reused CWW can actually contribute to the strength of cement so not
only can it improve the materials quality, concrete mixing companies can
also save on water costs because they do not need to use a fresh supply
every time.
