Our spine is a very complex series of joints that offers us support, stability, and protection. The Central Nervous System is composed of the brain and the spinal cord; as you can imagine the spine plays a large role in protecting the central nervous system.. allowing for quick and efficient communication between the brain and the body. The brain is the control system for all the functions our bodies carry out on a daily basis; including both voluntary & involuntary muscle function, sensory information, digestion, heart rate, blood pressure, and sleep.. just to name a few. Dysfunction of normal anatomy and physiological function of the spine can effect normal function of the Central Nervous System.

Welcome to Chiropractic!Your initial consultation will include a detailed chiropractic examination of the spine in conjunction with orthopaedic and neurological exams. Scientific evidence has allowed Chiropractors to be able to accurately identify and diagnose a wide variety of neuromusculoskeletal conditions.  Based upon your exam findings the doctor will discuss the possible treatments and outcomes associated with your diagnosis.

What to Expect:Although the majority of patients experience immediate relief following a Chiropractic adjustment, it’s not uncommon to experience mild discomfort or muscle

soreness after beginning your new treatment plan. You’re body needs time to heal and adapt to the new position of your joints. As much as we wish you felt immediate relief after one visit, we all know the healing process takes a little time. Your treatment plan will be based on your health history, diagnosis, and compliance with home care therapies. Our experience has demonstrated time and time again that patients who are compliant with home care recommendations get well faster and stay well longer. Home care therapies will be discussed based on your specific needs and will most likely evolve as your health & function improves.

The Chiropractic Treatment:Through a procedure called an adjustment, a

Doctor of Chiropractic helps to restore misaligned vertebrae to a more normal

position, thus allowing the nerves to properly communicate with the rest of the body and let

the body heal itself--safely and naturally. Under normal circumstances, chiropractic

adjustments are painless and will not hurt; however, in conditions where pain is present before the treatment some patient experience

mild discomfort. Although no healthcare procedures are 100% safe, chiropractic stands

on its record of safety and effectiveness unmatched in healthcare.
