RESTAURANT MAP SYMBOLS BEACH RESTROOMS SNORKELING If you notice trash on the beach, please bear in mind that this is 99% due to the flotsam that the Caribbean Current brings up to us from the north coast of South America and the Greater and Lesser Antilles. Although we have several volunteer and community groups who make sweeps of the beaches on the east side on a regular basis, the current brings us an unending supply of this junk from our southern neighbors. BE VIGILANT AT THE GAS STATION: 1. Verify the pump is set at “0.00” when it starts. 2. Do not let anybody distract your attention. 3. Make sure your receipt is for the same amount as shown on the pump, and the date is correct. 4. The pump and receipt show Pesos, not Dollars. 5. Save the receipt to turn in with your rental. AVOID BEING TICKETED or INJURED: 1. Use a public parking lot when possible. They are marked with a “P” on the city side of this map. 2. Remember, there is NO PARKING on the seafront avenue (Av. Rafael Melgar) from 9AM to 6PM on Mondays thru Saturdays. If you park on this street during no-parking hours, your car will be ticketed and your license plates removed. 3. Do not park along curbs painted yellow or red; your car will be towed or your license plates taken. 4. There is NO “legal limit.” ANY level of blood alcohol will void your insurance if you have an accident. 5. Helmets are obligatory for anyone on a moto. 6. Drive the speed limit! Slow down and enjoy! 7. Stop at ALL stopsigns. Don’t get blind-sided! 8. Most Calles are one-way and run east-west. Most Avenidas are one-way and run north south. There are exceptions; watch out for one-way signs. 9. Never leave anything of value in an open vehicle, or under an unlocked moto seat.
